Nigerian govt given 90 days to conduct referendum, asked to withdraw police, army

The Organization of Emerging African States (OEAS), has renewed its call for the Nigerian government to meet the demands for the actualization of Biafra.

OEAS is an international governmental organization that promotes self-determination and the end to colonial era boundaries in Africa.

In a statement to DAILY POST on Sunday by its General Secretary, Ebenezer Derek Mbongo Akwanga, Jr., and Jonathan Levy, Chief Administrative Officer, the group noted that, “today, the people of Biafra fear the brutality of the Nigeria police who are slaughtering their own citizens and arming herdsman as pro-government militias.

“The situation will surely escalate unless immediate action is taken,” it said.

The OEAS further made the following demands to the Nigerian government:

“All federal military and police forces in Biafra to stand down and return to their barracks.

“A snap referendum on Biafran self-determination to be held within 90 days with OEAS, UNPO, and nonaligned observers supervising the balloting process.

“The situation in Nigeria is fast spiraling out of control,” the organization said.

IPOB can’t use Rivers to launch attacks – Wike

Nyesom Wike, the Rivers State Governor, has declared that members of the proscribed Indigenous Peoples Organization of Biafra, IBOP, can’t use the state to launch attacks.

Wike also urged the 23 local government chairmen in the state and youths not to allow IPOB to hold demonstrations and hoist its flag within their jurisdiction in Rivers.

The governor said this on Monday during a meeting with the Community Development Committees, youths leaders and council chairmen at the Government House, in Port Harcourt.

In a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Kelvin Ebiri, Wike labelled Rivers as the most accommodating State for all Nigerians.

“We can never be against any ethnic group. We can never do that. We have lived in harmony with the Ibos, the Hausas, and Edo people,” he said.

“Everybody that comes to this State we have lived in harmony with. So Nigerians must commend Rivers State as a place where you’ve never had a problem between this group and that group.”

“There’s one terrorist group they call IPOB. I didn’t declare them a terrorist group, the court declared them a terrorist group, not me.

“The federal government declared them a terrorist group. IPOB can’t use Rivers State to be a place where they’ll be launching attacks. If you allow that, your future, your children’s future is gone,” Wike added.

“Go to Oyigbo and see what they’ve done. They destroyed the court. What did the court do? See the soldiers they killed and burnt them. See the policemen they killed and burnt them and then you said people would sit and fold their arms?”

We have Aburi Accord tapes, Gowon lied against Ojukwu – Nnamdi Kanu

Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, on Tuesday, disclosed that his group was in possession of the original Aburi Accord tapes.

Aburi Accord was reached in 1967 at a meeting attended by delegates of both the Federal Government of Nigeria (the Supreme Military Council) and the Eastern delegates, led by the Eastern Region’s leader Colonel Ojukwu. The meeting was billed to be the last chance of preventing all out war. It was held between 4 and 5 January 1967.

Kanu made the disclosure while noting that former Nigeria Military Head of State, Yakubu Gowon and Britain are in trouble.

He vowed to expose the alleged lies told against former warlord, the late Chukwuemeka Ojukwu regarding the defunct Biafra.

In a statement he issued, the IPOB leader said Gowon, Nigerian and British government’s are about to receive the biggest shock ever.

According to Kanu: “The divinely-ordained noble family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is now in possession of the original Aburi Accord tapes.

“Yakubu Gowon, Fulani Oligarchy and the British Government are all in trouble. Our eternal leader Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu and Biafra is about to be vindicated before the world.

“All the lies concocted against Ojukwu and Biafra by the BBC and world media is about to be blown out of the water.

“A very massive earthquake is coming. Britain, Gowon, Nigeria and the media is about to receive the greatest shock of their lives. Nigeria is finished!”

kanu has been in the forefront for the secession of Nigeria.

Despite being arrested and prosecuted, the IPOB leader was able to elope to the United Kingdom, UK, where he has been pushing for the actualisation of Biafra.

Biafra, Oduduwa Nations: IPOB, Yoruba group reveal plans, give Nigeria Govt ultimatum

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the Yoruba One Voice (YOV) have reiterated their resolve to achieve Biafra and Oduduwa Nations.

Warning of an implosion in Nigeria, they told the federal government to between now and October 1, 2021, conduct a referendum to allow citizens choose whether to leave or remain in the country.

This was contained in a joint release made available to DAILY POST on Friday.

It was signed by Sina Okanlomo, YOV General Secretary and Chika Edoziem, Head, IPOB Directorate of State.

The statement said Southern people were enduring life “with others, who do not share our own values, whose ways of life, mannerisms, ideology, are untoward, inimical, alien, hostile to our people.”

The bodies noted that it is time to boldly jettison the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended), “which was not a product of the collective will of the people.”

They said the constitution was decreed into existence by the General Abdulsalami Abubakar administration, after the annulment of June 12, 1993 general elections, “won fair and square by the late Bashorun Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola.”

The signatories noted that the 1914 “forced amalgamation” has entrenched poverty, underdevelopment, mediocrity, unemployment, wanton killings, terrorism, inequality, insecurity, injustice, ethnic bigotry, religious fanaticism and breach of human rights.

IPOB and YOV said from all indications, the current leadership of Nigeria has never been committed to the fundamental objectives and directives of the principles of statehood, policies of federalism as enshrined in Chapter II of the constitution.

They stated that people of the South are tired of the terrorism, insecurity, hopelessness, injustice, killings, unemployment, inequality, corruption, scandals, violence, oppression, extortion, and repression.

“Our aspiration is to build a stable Nation for our Peoples and in this regard, we demand that there must be a referendum, so that our peoples can freely and fairly make a democratic choice, whether they want to continue with Nigeria as presently configured or seek their right to self-determination before the 2023 general elections.

“In order to prevent an implosion of sorts, we, on behalf of our people, therefore demand a proper referendum/plebiscite, to be conducted between now and the 1st of October, 2021, in accordance with the Rights of Indigenous Peoples all over the world under the law as provided in the African Union (AU) and the United Nations (UN) charters.”

The groups said if the people choose self-determination, there would be an immediate activation for the creation of Oduduwa and Biafran Nations out of Nigeria from October 2, 2021.

IPOB and YOV told Southern people to stay away from Nigeria’s 60th Independence Anniversary activities.

They told them to be free from “internal colonization” and to stay at home on October 1, 2020.

The statement told agitators to be ready for further calls for peaceful and legal demonstrations.

End SARS: Forget Nigeria, let’s fight for Biafra – Asari Dokubo tells Niger Deltans

Former Niger Delta militant leader, Alhaji Asari Dokubo has called on people of the region to shun the protests against police brutality and scrapping of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, and focus on the reinvention of the Sovereign State of Biafra.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, Asari addressed people of Niger Delta participating in the nationwide protests, which he said is a waste of time.

According to the ex-warlord, there is nothing to restructure about Nigeria, insisting that it is a waste of time cooperating with the Yorubas in the #ENDSARS protests, adding that the only solution for Niger Deltans is to team together with the Ogonis and the Igbos and Efiks and reinvent Biafra.

He said this was because nobody can oppress the Ijaw man in Biafra.

Asari said that what the people need at the moment is political freedom and every other thing will come at the right time, “because you will control and hold your oil,” he said.

“Anything else is not going to work unless we stand up and fight for Biafra. Anybody talking about restructuring, Niger Delta republic or an Igbo Biafra is an enemy of our people because Biafra most surely come whether you like it or not.”

End SARS: We’re prepared for war – Biafra group boasts

Biafra Nations Youth League, BNYL, has warned security operatives in the country against applying the Lekki style of attack on protesters in the South-East, and South-South.

The group said it has made all necessary arrangement and is ready should the ongoing crisis in the country result to war.

National leader of BNYL, Princewill Chimezie Richard, gave the warning in a statement to DAILY POST on Thursday.

He accused the Federal Government of “planting hoodlums among peaceful protesters and creating a pro-government protest in Abuja and Rivers State in order to escalate crisis and declare State of emergency”.

The BNYL also raised the alarm over the destruction of cars and workshops in Apo Mechanic area of Abuja by indigenes, insisting that the Tuesday attack affected mainly Igbo traders.

The group said mechanic village is dominated by the Igbo people with property worth millions.

BNYL also called on the international community to mount pressure on President Mohammadu Buhari to compensate those that lost their cars and workshops in Abuja.

BNYL warned that the situation in Nigeria if not well managed could lead to arm rebellion especially when it affects the Igbo people and their South-South, adding that, “We have made every preparation should in case war breaks out.”
