BIAFRA NEWS : Biafra Declaration BRGIE met US Speaker, congressmen – Simon Ekpa claims

The Simon Ekpa-led Biafra Republic Government In-Exile, BRGIE, has claimed that its Finance Minister, Ogechukwu Nkere and the Director Biafra Foreign Affairs, USA,

Ada Eze, held important meetings with US congressmen, including the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, Congressman Mike Johnson and Congressman Jeff Van Drew to discuss Biafra Liberation and the interest of the Biafran community in the US.

He made this known in a series of statements posted on his official X account on Thursday.

Ekpa, known as the Prime Minister of BRGIE, noted that Nkere had a fruitful discussion with the US lawmakers regarding the Biafra self-referendum and the Nigerian government’s alleged marginalisation of Biafrans.

Ekpa in his statement boasted that US Speaker expressed interest in supporting Biafra’s agitation for self-rule.

According to him, the outcome of the discussion during the meetings would help in the actualization of Biafra liberation.

He added that the message of the Biafra declaration on December 2, 2024, has resonated all over the US.

Ekpa wrote, “BRGIE Minister of Finance Ogechukwu Nkere had a substantive meeting and discussion with the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, Congressman Mike Johnson (R-LA), to discuss the BRGIE, developments in Biafra, and the Biafran-American community.

“This is historic and unprecedented, as Speaker Johnson is one of the most powerful individuals in the United States government and is second in the United States presidential line of succession, after the Vice President.

“Minister Nkere also had the opportunity to discuss the self-referendum and Nigeria’s marginalisation of Biafrans.

“The Speaker expressed interest in and sympathy to the Biafran cause. At the end of the meeting, the Speaker provided a commemorative gift, which contained an official insignia of the office of Speaker of the House.

“This is truly historic, as never before has the Biafran issue been presented at such a high level.”

Recall that Ekpa-led BRGIE announced December 2, 2024, as the date for the Biafra liberation declaration.

However, the Nigerian Government had maintained that it was making moves to repatriate him back to the country from Finland.

BIAFRA NEWS : Eze Aro calls for true federalism, Kanu’s release at coronation

The paramount ruler of Arochukwu kingdom, and Eze Aro the 9th, His Royal Majesty, Dr. Eberechukwu Kanu Oji on Saturday, called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to embrace true federalism and release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from detention.

The Eze Aro made this call during his coronation ceremony in Arochukwu, stating, “To the Nigerian federal authorities, I extend the respectful call for a genuine embrace of true federalism. Marginalization and exclusion must give way to inclusion, fairness, and justice.

The monarch noted, “The Igbo people, with their remarkable contributions and rich cultural heritage, deserve a central place at the heart of our nation’s development. Let us build a Nigeria where every ethnic group, including the Igbos, can thrive and contribute to a truly united, progressive and sustainable nationhood, thereby fostering a peaceful environment, where every citizen feels a sense of belonging.”

The royal father also pleaded, “Along these lines, I seize this opportunity to lend my voice to the concerted calls on His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the release of our son, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, from his command detention. His release, already sanctioned by court injunctions, is overdue and will be in the interest of promoting peace and justice in Nigeria.”

Speaking on the contested throne, the Eze Aro assured, “I am committed to bringing utmost dignity and attracting the highest respect to the throne of Eze Aro. I promise to lead with the fear of God and respect for everyone.”

I pledge before you today to lead this renaissance with steadfast dedication, harnessing the strength, resilience and ingenuity of our people.

“Going forward, I will continue to engage in regional and national efforts that align with my agenda of elevating the Arochukwu kingdom to new hands of glory and development by putting God first, upholding our age-long cultural ideals and abiding by our kingdom’s motto, ‘Ako bu ije’.

“Our unity and progress are inexplicable ways to the broader aspirations of the Igbo people. By fostering collaboration and mutual support across the Eastern Nigeria land, we can unlock the potential that lies within every Igbo and indeed Aro community. Our shared history, our shared values and our shared ambitions must guide us towards a future where the Igbo nation stands tall, contributing significantly to the Nigerian federation’s growth and prosperity.”

Speaking during the coronation ceremony, the governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti, commended the Aro people for making the right and best choice in choosing His Royal Majesty Dr Oji as the 9th Eze Aro of Aro Kingdom, stating, “I do not doubt that majority of Aro people are very happy with what is happening here today. There may be one or two people that are not happy, but is not our business to make everybody happy.

“Let me make one point clear; any society that does not have leadership is cursed. And, leadership comes neither from the East, West, North or South. The Bible recorded that power comes from God. And in His own time, He makes things beautiful. So, I would like to use what happened in Aro and reconnect it to other societies. Why do I say so? Gone are the days when people choose the worst rather than the best as leaders.

“I want to say without any fear of contradiction, that the Aro people made the best choice. From what I have seen, from what I have read, from what I have heard about the Eze Aro the 9th, he is the best in his class.

“He is the type of leader which every society should aim to have. A leader who will invest in the community rather than stealing from the community, a leader who will show the light rather than initiating people into darkness, and a leader who has a second address (a profession).

“This is because, if you don’t have a second address, then where you are becomes your second address and the tendency is for people who don’t have a second address to begin to dip their hands in the till.

“I can see that the Eze Aro of Arochukwu will not deep his hands into the till, but on the other hand, contribute his resources to the development of the Aro community.”

BIAFRA NEWS : What my father taught me about Biafra and my heritage

Biafra is a dream that haunts me – it was a dream that was on the cusp of being realised and yet failed so painfully,’ recalls Ije Ajibade, telling the story of injustice that has shaped her life

M y  earliest memories of Biafra are the same as my earliest memories of my father. I can remember sitting next to him on a bed and I touched his arm. He turned to me and he said: “Can’t you see your father is crying.” It was many years later that I realised he was crying because of Biafra. That was 50 years ago today. I didn’t see my father cry again. He was mourning the loss of the Biafra dream.

For me and for many of the diaspora, Biafra is a presence that haunts us. It is a part of our history that is not spoken about and yet we try to make sense of it by reading, watching plays and attending lectures. All of this in an attempt to understand this dream that was on the cusp of being realised and yet failed so painfully.

I was two when the war began and four when it ended. This was a civil war in Nigeria fought between the Nigerian government and the eastern region of Nigeria. Predominantly the home of the Igbo people, the eastern region – in response to violence and massacres, as well as political, economic, cultural and religious tensions – declared itself the State of Biafra on 30 May 1967 and seceded from Nigeria.

Nigeria was a creation of the British in 1914. It was established for colonial administrative convenience. It merged three separate cultures into one. To the north were the Fulani and Hausa-speaking people, often nomadic, principally of the Muslim faith. To the west of the River Niger were the Yoruba, largely farmers living under a rigid monarchical system and Christian. To the east were the predominantly Igbo-speaking people, also Christian, but with a strain of Judaism and more republican in their outlook. Nigeria is not (and never has been) a cohesive whole. However, in 1960, Nigeria was granted independence. Violence and coups ensued.

In response to Biafra’s secession, the Nigerian government, backed by the former colonial master, countered with a brutal war. Millions of Biafrans died, most as a result of the deliberate government policy of starvation. From July 1967 to January 1970, Biafrans fought to free themselves from Nigerian oppression and from the lingering vestiges of poisonous colonialism. Biafra was starved into submission. Biafra was, and still is, a powerful vision of freedom and self-determination.

I have a deep and abiding rootedness in Biafra and the UK. My father studied at the LSE in the early 1960s and his first job as an academic was in England. I was born in the UK and brought up in two different cultures. To me, Biafra is a dream and a shadow. It is a dream of my father. I remember bouncing into the kitchen aged nine or 10 (we were living in Norwich at the time) and informing my mother that I was Biafran because Dad said so, and she told me (quite rightly) that Biafra does not exist. I ignored her. This was 1975, five years after the war had ended but my father still dreamed. He was Biafran and so were we. At least once a week we had to eat fufu, a traditional Biafran meal. As far as my father was concerned, fufu, like our Biafran identity, was both compulsory and necessary and he made sure that we knew this. My sisters and me would hanker after fish and chips!

The SFI Foundation, Inc. (SFI) is a non-profit organization established to issue and administer standards for the quality assurance of specialty performance and ..

My father died 17 years ago. We flew his body home to be buried. It went without saying that he needed to be laid to rest in the place that was truly home for him. My father’s tie to the home country was a tie to the dream of Biafra. He never stopped believing in Biafra. It was a passion and a dream that consumed him. His passion for Biafra shaped the way my two sisters and I were brought up. His passion for Biafra lingers in my life and has influenced the way I interact with the world and the way in which I struggle and thirst for justice.

But Biafra is also a shadow. Not just for me, but for many people. It is the shadow of our past in Nigeria as a nation, whether we acknowledge it or not. The shadow of Biafra exists in the memories of the war and the many stories that are told about it behind closed doors. The shadows and dreams of Biafra are invisible but still very profound.

Dad brought us up to believe in Biafra. He was always deeply passionate about Biafra and our home town of Mbaise. When I was 12, we moved to Nigeria from the UK. Dad wanted us to attend school in Nigeria. We lived in a small town called Idah on the eastern bank of the River Niger in the middle belt region of Nigeria.

Strong Future International is the #1 home-based business program in the world. With a global reach, SFI has helped people in more places reach financial ...

My father had unwritten rules. We were not allowed to study in the north. We were not allowed to marry anybody from the north and he gave us strict instructions to marry from Mbaise in the southeast of Nigeria. Needless to say, that was the one time I disobeyed him because I eventually married a Yoruban man from the west of Nigeria.

The furthest we ever got to the north was a town called Jos and I think we drove through Abuja once. As far as my father was concerned, northern Nigeria was a no-go area. He was living in the shadow of Biafra and when we think about the way so many Biafrans were killed in the north before the war and what is happening today with Boko Haram, I can understand why he felt so strongly about this.

Some years after his death I remember rebuking a cousin of mine when I heard that she had moved to northern Nigeria. That fear and the shadow were very much alive for me even though I was living in London. These shadows became part of our day-to-day lives, affecting our choices and decisions.

As an adult I can see more deeply how the dream of Biafra has shaped who I am. I am a priest, but I am also a community activist. My thirst for justice and the need for a better world was nurtured by my father and his dream of Biafra.

During the war, my father was away campaigning and trying to raise money for an organisation called The Friends of Biafra. His dream was so powerful and the needs of Biafra so urgent that he simply had to leave his family at this crucial time and respond. My youngest sister was born then, but Biafra had to come first.

His thirst for justice and his activism shaped my own thirst for these things. At eight, I was raising money to buy presents for elderly people in a nearby home. At 10 I was joining sponsored sleep outs for Amnesty International. At 12 I was writing about Steve Biko. The dream of my father continues to shape and influence me in my contemporary social justice activities.

Biafra is part of who I am. It is part of my family heritage. I remember the stories about the war where my relatives fled from town to town to avoid the approaching Nigerian soldiers. I remember the stories of what they did to survive.

I had a cousin who went by the name of Surpriser. His real name was Goddy and he fought in the Biafran army. During the war he hid the family’s valuables and property by digging a deep hole somewhere on family land. After the war he recovered everything and from that time onwards he was known as “Surpriser”.

As a teenager, I always thought he was rather odd and often under the influence of something but I think the fighting affected him in more ways than we ever fully understood. I wish he was still alive so that I could speak to him and ask him what happened. As an adult as I look back over my life I can see how Biafra has shaped my life in both dreams and shadows. And I know that many of us in the Biafran diaspora have similar stories and experiences.

It is now 50 years after the end of the war and I think it is right for us to remember, because in doing so we honour our ancestors. We honour those who died during the war often from starvation, and we honour those who fought for Biafra.

I think that there is still the need for answers and dialogue about the war. I think it is a shame that Nigeria has never seen the need to have such dialogue or some kind of public acknowledgement or remembrance of the war. These dreams and shadows will never disappear. They need to be embraced and they need to be acknowledged because these dreams and shadows abound today.

The people waving the Biafran flag today in protest are mostly people who were young children during the war and some were not even born at that time. They wave the Biafran flag because the dreams and shadows of Biafra are as strong today as they were when my father had them. These dreams and shadows affect Nigeria today; the shadows will never disappear and the dreams will never die. The Nigerian government needs to realise that silence is not an answer to the truth.

There is a passage in the Bible where God asks Cain “Where is your brother Abel?” Cain tries to rebuff God, but God says: “Your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground.” The blood that was shed for Biafra is perhaps part of the reason why these dreams and shadows still exist. It is important for us to remember Biafra but it is also important for Nigeria to remember Biafra and for the United Kingdom to remember the part it played in the cruel devastation of the Biafran people.

As for me and people like me, we will continue to remember, especially through stories and plays, films and drama, dialogue and reflection and through the activism for Biafra that still continues today. Let us continue to remember. Let us continue to dream. Igbo Kwenu! Biafra Kwenu!

The detained IPOB leader at the resumption of his trial at the Federal High Court in Abuja, had through his lawyers, gave three conditions for prosecution to meet for the continuation of his trial.

Kanu, through his lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, among others demanded that the bail granted him earlier be restored to enable him prepare for his defense.

He claimed that the bail was erroneously revoked based on a false and fraudulent claim of the Federal Government.

Kanu also requested setting aside of the arrest warrant issued against him based on allegations by government that he had jumped bail and escaped out of the country.

He also demanded that his lawyer must be permitted to have unhindered access to him as required by law.

The Biafra agitator said that he would be willing to face accelerated trial once the conditions are met.

However, the Federal Government, through its counsel, Chief Adegboyega Awomolo, SAN, asked the court to reject the conditions on the ground that they are frivolous, vexatious, irritating and baseless.

The senior lawyer said that the court had earlier rejected the bail application and as such, the court cannot over rule itself.

Awomolo argued that the only option open to Kanu is to go to the Court of Appeal to challenge the rejected bail request.

BIAFRA NEWS , THE EARTH

Earth Is Our Home Planet. Researchers Accept Earth And Its Moon Conformed to A similar Time As The Remainder Of The Nearby planet group. They Think That Was Around 4.5 Quite a while back. Earth Is The Fifth-Biggest Planet In The Planetary group. Its Distance across Is Around 8,000 Miles. Also, Earth Is The Third-Nearest Planet To The Sun. Its Typical Separation From The Sun Is Around 93 Million Miles. Just Mercury And Venus Are Nearer.   Learn how I went from $0 in affiliate income to over $50,000 per month. Earth Has Been Known as The "Goldilocks Planet." In The Tale Of "Goldilocks And The Three Bears," A Young lady Named Goldilocks Enjoyed Everything On the money. Her Porridge Couldn't Be Excessively Hot Or Excessively Cold. What's more, Her Bed Couldn't Be Excessively Hard Or Excessively Delicate. On The planet, Everything Is Perfect For Life To Exist. It's Warm, Yet all at once Not Excessively Warm. Also, It Has Water, However Not An excess of Water.

Earth Is The Main Planet Known To Have A lot of Fluid Water. Fluid Water Is Fundamental Forever. Earth Is The Main Planet Where Life Is Known To Exist.  crypto flare

From Space, Earth Seems to be A Blue Marble With White Twirls And Areas Of Brown, Yellow, Green And White. The Blue Is Water, Which Covers Around 71% Of Earth's Surface. The White Whirls Are Mists. The Areas Of Brown, Yellow And Green Are Land. What's more, The Areas Of White Are Ice And Snow.

The Equator Is A Nonexistent Circle That Partitions Earth Into equal parts. The Northern Half Is Known as The Northern Side of the equator. The Southern Half Is Known as The Southern Side of the equator. The Northernmost Point On Earth Is Known as The North Pole. The Southernmost Point On Earth Is Known as The South Pole.

People Have Realized That Earth Is Round For Over 2,000 Years! The Antiquated Greeks Estimated Shadows During Summer Solstice And furthermore Determined Earth's Periphery. They Utilized Places Of Stars And Heavenly bodies To Gauge Distances On The planet. They Really might See The Planet's Round Shadow On The Moon During A Lunar Shroud. (We Actually Can See This During Lunar Shrouds.)

Today, Researchers Use Geodesy, Which Is The Study Of Estimating Earth's Shape, Gravity And Pivot. Geodesy Gives Exact Estimations That Show Earth Is Round. With GPS And Different Satellites, Researchers Can Quantify Earth's Size And Shape To Inside A Centimeter. Pictures From Space Additionally Show Earth Is Round Like The Moon.

Despite the fact that Our Planet Is A Circle, It's anything but An Ideal Circle. In view of The Power Caused When Earth Turns, The North And South Poles Are Somewhat Level. Earth's Pivot, Shaky Movement And Different Powers Are Making The Planet Change Shape Gradually, Yet It Is Still Round.

Earth Circles The Sun Once Like clockwork, Or One Year. The State Of Its Circle Isn't Exactly An Ideal Circle. It's More Similar to An Oval, Which Makes Earth's Separation From The Sun Change During The Year. Earth Is Closest The Sun, Or At "Perihelion," In January When It's Around 91 Million Miles Away. Earth Is Farthest From The Sun, Or At "Aphelion," In July When It's Around 95 Million Miles Away.

At The Equator, Earth Twists At A little more than 1,000 Miles Each Hour. Earth Makes A Full Twirl Around Its Hub Once Like clockwork, Or At some point. The Pivot Is A Fanciful Line Through The Focal point Of The Planet From The North Pole Toward The South Pole. As opposed to Straight All over the place, Earth's Hub Is Shifted At A Point Of 23.5 Degrees.

Consistently, A big part Of Earth Is Lit By The Sun And Half Is In Dimness. Regions Pointing Toward The Sun Experience Daytime. Regions Confronting Away From The Sun Experience Evening. As The Planet Twists, Most Puts On Earth Cycle Through Constantly Once Like clockwork. The North Pole And South Pole Have Constant Sunshine Or Obscurity Relying Upon The Season.

Earth Has Seasons On the grounds that Its Pivot Is Shifted. In this way, The Sun's Beams Hit Various Pieces Of The Planet All the more Straightforwardly Relying Upon The Season.

From June To August, The Sun's Beams Hit The Northern Half of the globe More Straightforwardly Than The Southern Side of the equator. The Outcome Is Warm (Summer) Climate In The Northern Half of the globe And Cold (Winter) Climate In The Southern Side of the equator.

From December To February, The Sun's Beams Hit The Northern Side of the equator Less Straightforwardly Than The Southern Half of the globe. The Outcome Is Cold (Winter) Climate In The Northern Side of the equator And Warm (Summer) Climate In The Southern Half of the globe.

From September To November, The Sun Sparkles Similarly On The two Halves of the globe. The Outcome Is Fall In The Northern Half of the globe And Spring In The Southern Side of the equator.

The Sun Additionally Sparkles Similarly On The two Halves of the globe From Spring To May. The Outcome Is Spring In The Northern Half of the globe And Fall In The Southern Side of the equator.

Earth Comprises Of Land, Air, Water And Life. The Land Contains Mountains, Valleys And Level Regions. The Air Is Comprised of Various Gases, Fundamentally Nitrogen And Oxygen. BIAFRA NEWS : Simon Ekpa released by Finnish Police after hours of questioning

A popular pro-Biafra separatist agitator, Simon Ekpa, has been released by Police in Finland, hours after he was arrested and grilled on Thursday, according to HS.

Earlier in the day, Ekpa was escorted out of his apartment in Lahti by Finnish policemen.

He was later released after the police allegedly arrested him for a suspected crime.

The Finnish Central Criminal Police has now confirmed Ekpa’s release on Thursday.

The police claimed Ekpa’s arrest was in connection with the ongoing preliminary investigation.

“The person being questioned today is suspected of a crime. We will return to the title on Friday,” Tommi Reen from the Central Criminal Police told HS during a phone interview.

Ekpa, a self-acclaimed disciple of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, had repeatedly ordered the people of the South-East to observe a sit-at-home and asked them to boycott the country’s general elections billed for Saturday.

BIAFRA NEWS : CBN orders banks to collect old N500, N1,000 notes

CBN orders banks to collect old N500, N1,000 notes

The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, has directed Deposit Money Banks to collect old N500, and N1,000 notes from customers with reference code generated from its website.
Multiple bank sources told Vanguard that the branches received a directive from the head office some hours ago that they should collect the old notes from their customers who have enrolled and generated reference code from the CBN website.

A top CBN official confirmed the directive: “Yes we have directed them to collect the old N500 and N1,000 from customers, subject to maximum of N500,000.”  Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari directed that the old N500 and N1,000 notes were no longer legal tenders, but that those having the notes should take the notes to the CBN.

Consequently, the CBN opened a portal for people with the old N500 and N1,000 notes to register how much they want to deposit and to get a reference code to confirm there registration.
The reference code will be used to deposit the old notes at any of the CBN offices across the country.

However, investigation revealed that the CBN might have allowed the banks to collect the old notes from their customers, following the huge number of people that besieged its offices to deposit the old N500 and N1,000.
A top bank official and branch head told Vanguard that the branch will collect old notes from customers tomorrow (Saturday) as the branch did not open to customers today due to fear of attack.

BIAFRA NEWS : Nnamdi Kanu's Case In Appeal Court Begins As Ozekhome Leads Legal Team

The judge, in a ruling, had held that the removed charges did not disclose any offence against the defendant.

Kanu’s lawyers are expected to be spearheaded by Ejiofor, who stated this in statement on Monday night, said Mike Ozekhome, SAN, will lead the team as usual.

The Appeal Court, Abuja Division, is set to hear the appeal of Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The team of lawyers has also arrived in the court, according to the BBC, and they are led by a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Chief Mike Ozekhome.

SaharaReporters had reported that Justice Binta Nyako of Federal High Court in Abuja, on Friday, April 8, struck out eight of the 15 count charges against the Kanu.

The judge, in a ruling, had held that the removed charges did not disclose any offence against the defendant.

While ruling on the preliminary objection seeking to quash the charges, the judge said counts 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 14 had not disclosed any offence against the defendant (Kanu).

The charges that were struck out below are as follows: “Count 6: Made broadcasts to attack officers of the Nigeria Police Force; Count 7: Made broadcasts in which he incited members of the public to hunt and attack officers of the Nigerian Police Force.

Nyako had said that counts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, and 15 showed some allegations, which the defendant had to answer.

The application, premised on 34 grounds and supported by a 36-paragraph affidavit, is also seeking an order acquitting and discharging Kanu.

Ozekhome adopted his application and asked the court to strike out the entire charge.

He also said according to the provisions of the federal high court act, a prosecutor is expected to give exact details of a location where an offence is committed.

“You are accusing Kanu of making some broadcast. You didn’t say where these broadcasts were made. Were they made in the spirit world, made in the air or under the ground?” Ozekhome asked.

He said his application seeks the “quashing, striking out and dismissing of the 15-count amended charge” for being “incompetent and denying the court of jurisdiction to entertain the suit.”

However, these seven counts are now the subject of the Appeal Court hearing today.

Kanu through his lead Counsels Chief Mike Ozekhome, (SAN) who appealed the decision of the Federal High Court, had described the seven remaining charges as “defective and baseless”.

“Count 10: Incited members of the public to destroy public facilities. Count 11: Threatened members of the public not to come out on 31st May, 2021. Count 12: Made broadcasts with the intention to incite members of the public to stage a violent revolution in furtherance of acts of terrorism. Count 14: Directed members of the public to destroy the public transport system in Lagos, resulting in major economic loss to the governor.”

“Court 8: Made broadcasts in which he directed members of the IPOB to manufacture bombs; Court 9: Made broadcasts on diverse dates in furtherance of terrorism against the Nigeria state and with intent to destabilise the fundamental political and economic structures of Nigeria, incited members of the public to stop the Anambra governorship election.

BIAFRA NEWS : I HAVE NEVER BEEN AS UNSURE OF NIGERIA FUTURE AS I AM NOW – BISHOP KUKAH

After independence, in order to build a great nation, each country went to work. But in Nigeria, after independence, our people went to pray and fast.

So, while we were praying, Malaysia came here and took our palm seedlings and build a great factory of it.

While we were praying, Singapore went into investment in technology.

While we were praying, India went into ICT.

While we were praying, China went to massive industrialization.

While we were shouting Allah Alakuba! UAE went into massive infrastructural development.

While we were binding and casting Lucifer, Japan went into technological development.

While we were speaking in tongues, Denmark went into education of her citizens.

While we were mounting big speakers in our places of worship, USA was mounting man on the moon.

After our prayers, God, being a wise God decided to reward us according to our labour.

Since those that went into industrialization, technology, infrastructural development, ICT, education etc had been rewarded accordingly. It’s only wise God rewards us with our efforts in prayers.

That’s why today, Nigerian pastors are competing in building the biggest churches. That’s why there are more prayer houses and worship places than hospitals and schools. That’s why people rush to prayer houses for medical and business solutions instead of hospitals.

That’s why we don’t do business proposals before jumping into business since we are going to back it up with prayers. And when such collapse, we blame devil.

That’s why it’s a sin to say anything negative about pastors and imams.

That’s why our pastors don’t consider the opinion of engineers while building and blame devil when the building collapsed.

That’s why faith in God replaces building pillars and when it collapsed we blame it on Lucifer.

That’s why our pastors are making sure they plant church branches instead of schools in every street in Nigeria.

That’s why we always wait for God to do that which ability to accomplish He has already handed over to us.

That’s why we want our teachers to labour on earth and come to heaven for their rewards.

Nigeria is a prayer loving, God fearing nation. Religion has taken the place of technology, infrastructure, education and all.

When we are traveling, we ignore all the necessary road requirements, servicing of our vehicles and pray. And, once we pray, we can put a half fit vehicle on the road and blame our step mother or mother in law if anything goes wrong.

That’s why there are more people dying on our roads than wild life animals in the wilderness.

Because, we pray and fast and leave everything to God when God has given us all we need to survive and build a nation…….

God help us.

BIAFRA NEWS : Farmers in Kaduna communities pay terrorists N400m to access farmlands – Community leader

Alhaji Zubairu Abdulra’uf, a community leader from the Birnin Gwari Emirate Council in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State,

lamented that members of the communities in the area were allowed to go to their farms this rainy season by bandits after paying N400 million.

He said that the people of the emirate have all started defending themselves against the activities of terrorists that had taken over the area over the years.

Speaking to newsmen in Kaduna on Thursday, he explained that the incessant attacks on communities by the terrorists had paralyzed economic activities, especially in the rural areas, and made it completely impossible for them to travel to other places to undertake their legitimate activities.

According to him, N200 million was paid to the terrorists in the Randegi district alone.

He added, “When you talk of Birnin-Gwari Local Government as a whole, it’s between N300 million to N400 million paid to these bandits.”

He further explained that the payment is in three stages, stressing that the bandits are paid in pre-season and mid-season when the crops are about to start yielding.

He added that payment has to be made to the bandits because they will not allow the farmers to have access to their farms, saying that at the end of the season when the farmers are harvesting, they will also pay the bandits before they access their farms.

Abdulra’uf also revealed that the levy does not end there, adding that each farmer also gives between two to 10 bags of grains to the bandits.

He said the residents of Birnin-Gwari have been paying the levies for over three years, lamenting the frustration. He said since the government cannot protect them, they have chosen to arm themselves.

BIAFRA NEWS : Don’t repeat what Rivers did to Igbos after Biafra war – HURIWA warns Goodluck Jonathan

Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA, has warned former President Goodluck Jonathan to shelve the plans of entering the race for the 2023 presidency.

There are growing rumours that the former President has yet to declare his interest because he was yet to receive the assurance from the All Progressives Congress, APC, that he would run as the party’s consensus candidate.

Other rumours say that Goodluck Jonathan is seeking the blessing or approval of President Muhammadu Buhari to join the APC and grab the party’s sole ticket uncontested.

Addressing his supporters in Abuja a few weeks ago, Jonathan did not deny nursing the intention to run for the 2023 presidency as he told them to watch out.

Jonathan stated categorically that the political process regarding his decision to contest for president in 2023 was ongoing.

Many Nigerians believe that Jonathan was being used as a tool by Northern APC chieftains, to reduce the number of years the South will stay in power, having served four years as an elected Southern president already.

Jonathan became the first victim of the merger of some political parties and political bigwigs under the umbrella of the APC in 2014, as he, in 2015, became the first democratically elected President of Nigeria to be defeated in an election and removed from office by a new administration.

With the current administration having allegedly failed in all areas of governance and left the country almost in a state of beyond repair, it is understood that some Northern APC chieftains see Jonathan as the best candidate to sell to Nigerians, who they would welcome with a warm embrace.

But HURIWA is warning the Old Rivers-State-born politician to avoid such a move, adding that contesting the election would be seen as reversing what happened to the Igbo in River State after the Nigerian-Biafra war.

“Our parents who had houses in the State lost all houses during the war. But my father had so many houses in the North, but they were all taken care of by a Northerner,” HURIWA’s Emmanuel Onwubiko said in a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday.

“After the 30-month-old war, my father came back and collected the old rent and he got all his houses back. But River State took all the housing assets belonging to Igbo people in Rivers.

“So, Goodluck Jonathan should not replay that hatred that they showed to the Igbo after the war because if he accepts to be candidate of APC and become the president, it means he has short-changed the Igbo who gave him their all.

“If he does that, the South-South and the South-East will never have peace or trust each other for life. Because what happened to us after the war in the 60s, when we lost so many housing assets, they have not been forgotten.

“So, if he tried a second betrayer by accepting APC’s enticement to become President for only four years, he is doing it because he wants to short-change the Igbos,” he said.

Knowing how to read food labels can help you choose healthier options. Use the calorie information to work out how a particular food fits into your daily calorie allowance on the weight loss plan.

Using smaller plates can help you eat smaller portions. By using smaller plates and bowls, you may be able to gradually get used to eating smaller portions without going hungry. To avoid temptation, do not stock junk food – such as chocolate, biscuits, crisps and sweet fizzy drinks – at home. Instead, opt for healthy snacks, such as fruit, unsalted rice cakes, oat cakes, unsalted or unsweetened popcorn, and fruit juice.
