BIAFRA Armed Biafra National Guard Fighters Threaten Buhari Government, Demand Release Of Detained Nnamdi Kanu, Commanders

The group said its defence headquarters is in Nsukka in Enugu State.

The Biafran National Guard, one of the secessionist movements clamouring for the independence of the South-East region from Nigeria, has threatened to defend Biafraland at all cost.

In a video obtained by SaharaReporters, the group warned the Nigerian government under President Muhammadu Buhari to desist from killing or further arresting its members and citizens as it reeled out names of its leaders currently in detention.

The video shows the armed fighters of the BNG in a forest believed to be in the South-East.

The group said its defence headquarters is in Nsukka in Enugu State.

Also, one of the commanders who was captured in the video said the group had just embarked on a mission to arrest the Abia State Commissioner of Police, Jane Agbede.

A member of the group was heard saying, “This is the BNG, Biafran nation, coming from their mission. Today is 13th December 2021, these are men ready to defend their motherland at all cost, the first defence movement. Welcome back, gallant soldiers, the mission went successfully. We are ready to defend Biafraland by all means.”

A Commander of the group said in the video, ”Friends and lovers of freedom all over the world. This is the 13th of December, 2021. We went on a mission yesterday, me and my soldiers from our defence headquarters here in Nsukka to Umuahia. We went to trigger our self-defence.

“We have started to defend our nation which we have redeclared, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu must be released, the Federal Government be warned. Mazi Ben Onwuka must be released, Federal Government, be warned. Mazi Chukwuemeka must be released. We know we can be heard loud and clear. Biafra is our right.

“These are our Biafran vehicles. We are the Biafran Army. Biafrans all over the world, we are the Biafran Army."

IPOB: The Nigerian Civil War, commonly known as the Biafran War

THE HISTORY OF BIAFRA AND NIGERIA WAR  Israel, Nigeria and the Biafra civil war    The Nigerian Civil War , commonly known as the Biafran War (6 July 1967 – 15 January 1970), was a war fought between the government of Nigeria and the secessionist state of Biafra. Biafra represented nationalist aspirations of the Igbo people, whose leadership felt they could no longer coexist with the Northern-dominated federal government. The conflict resulted from political, economic, ethnic, cultural and religious tensions which preceded Britain's formal decolonization of Nigeria from 1960 to 1963. Immediate causes of the war in 1966 included a military coup, a counter-coup and persecution of Igbo living in Northern Nigeria. Control over the lucrative oil production in the Niger Delta played a vital strategic role. Within a year, the Federal Government troops surrounded Biafra, capturing coastal oil facilities and the city of Port Harcourt. The blockade imp...
