Meghan told Oprah Winfrey she 'turned over' her passport after joining Royal family But it has been revealed she went on thirteen vacations. 

It sounded like a cult.

One of the many bombs Meghan Markle dropped in her Oprah interview was that she "turned over" her passport, driving licence and keys when she was welcomed into the Royal family in 2016.

But sources have confirmed the Duchess of Sussex made at least 13 trips abroad after her relationship with Prince Harry emerged. In the much talked about Oprah interview, the L.A native declared all your personal identification is given to Palace aides when you join "The Firm."

Meghan, 39, claimed she didn't see her passport again until she and Harry quit as senior royals and moved to California. The Duchess described being isolated in England and only leaving her Palace twice in for four months.

But The Sun is reporting that the Duchess visited 13 countries as a tourist from when she started dating Prince Harry to September 2019. Prince Harry and Meghan also jetted off to Italy for fashion designer Misha Nonoo's lavish wedding.

Although the Queen does not require a passport to travel, all other members of the Royal Family are required to carry one when heading abroad.

Meghan and Harry took their first vacation together just six weeks after their relationship began in 2016. The Prince took his then girlfriend to a safari camp in Botswana. They later flew off to Lake Como to visit George Clooney and his wife Amal in August 2018.

The pair then took trips to Amsterdam, France and Toronto.

In August 2019, the couple celebrated Meghan's 38th birthday at the exclusive Vista Alegre villa complex in Ibiza. The Duchess also visited New York in February 2019 for a baby shower before welcoming son Archie.

Fans weren't buying Meghan's story and took to social media to vent.

"It's always been her father, her sister, her ex husband, Kate, William, Charles, etc. Is anything ever been her fault?" one person wrote online.

"A selective memory that fits her narrative. How did she make it to Canada with no passport?" another added.

"She expects us to believe that she travelled extensively without a passport. She wasn't allowed to drive but Kate, the Queen, Camilla etc are all allowed to drive. She didn't own anything so what keys did she have to hand over?" a third chimed in
