  A foremost socio-cultural youth organization of Igbo extraction, Igbo Youth Assembly (IYA) has called on various Igbo groups clamouring for secession from Nigeria to stop their agitation and embrace activities that sustain national unity and peace. The call was contained in a statement jointly signed by the President-General, Ifeanyi Nwaudunna and Secretary-General, Casmir Irekamba after their virtual general assembly and made available to journalists in Owerri, yesterday. The group accused some Igbo leaders of being selfish, myopic; and misguiding the youths into agitating for succession which according to them was not in the best interest of the Igboland.   Biafra Nations Youth League, BNYL, has described as laughable President Muhammadu Buhari’s declaration on   compulsory use of face mask. The reaction was contained in a statement on Friday by BNYL leader, Chimezie Richard. He noted that the Nigerian leader has never been seen wearing a face mask apart from when he travelled abroad.   David Onwuchekwa,  Nnewi  The Biafran Internal Government (BIG) Elders-in-Council, yesterday, faulted the decision of Ohanaeze Ndigbo and some  politicians  in the region advocating for Nigeria’s president of Igbo extraction.   Okwesilieze Nwodo, a former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has warned that elites of the Southeast may begin to support the secession move of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
