The legal practitioner alleged that there was no Igbo officer among the thirteen promoted.
He stated that this act is a ‘violation of Section 14 of the Nigerian Constitution’, and called on citizens of Nigeria of Igbo descent to object to it.
Ejimakor wrote on his known Twitter handle on Wednesday: “It’s a gross violation of Section 14 of the Constitution that there’s NO Igbo amongst the 13 Police Commissioners (all Northern muslims) recently promoted to AIGs and none amongst the 12 Zonal Commanders. All Igbo must rise against this. It should not be left to #IPOB alone.”
Few days ago, all promoted officers were deployed to their various commands and zones of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), on the order of IGP Adamu.
The police chief charged them to bring their vast experiences and professionalism to bear in advancing the fortunes of the Force.
He further directed the officers to ensure adequate supervision of their formations and commands to enhance the drive at repositioning the Force for improved service delivery.
