The Movement for the Actualization the Sovereign State of Biafra on Tuesday condemned the killing of a Catholic priest of Enugu Diocese, Reverend Fr. Paul Offu, by suspected herdsmen.        Fr Offu was killed along Ihe-Agbudu Road in Awgu Local Government Area of the state on Thursday night by yet-to-identified gunmen.       A statement by the separatist’s National Director of Information, Comrade Edeson Samuel said MASSOB and other pro-Biafra agitators were already on the ground to protect the people.
The separatist described as ridiculous the report credited to the Enugu State Commissioner of Police, Suleiman Balarabe that the killers of Rev. Fr. Offu had been arrested when the killers of the priest were still hiding in the forest with their cows.
“It is ridiculous and shameful to create this insensitive and wrong impression to divert attention. The killers of Rev. Fr. Ofuu are still hiding in the forest with their cows while the police went about arresting innocent people claiming that they are the killers of the Rev Fr Offu.
“These systematic and religiously minded killings of Christians of southern and Middle Beltans can never stop because almost ninety per cent of divisional police officers (DPO’s) in Enugu state are from the northern extraction that has been mandated primarily to protect these terrorist Fulani herdsmen.
“The commissioner of police, Enugu State should stop deceiving the people of Enugu State. If truly he is sure of himself that the killers of Rev fr. Paul Offu have been arrested, he should be bold enough to parade them. Some weeks ago these terrorist Fulani herdsmen attacked and kidnapped passengers at Agbani – Ugbawka – Nkerefi Road, some of the villagers that went to the police station at Agbani to alert the police about the crime were arrested and detained for mentioning Fulani herdsmen as the attackers.
“The Agbani divisional police officer working for the Islamic interest of the Arewa cabals ordered for their arrest and detention,” it said.

IPOB: The Nigerian Civil War, commonly known as the Biafran War

THE HISTORY OF BIAFRA AND NIGERIA WAR  Israel, Nigeria and the Biafra civil war    The Nigerian Civil War , commonly known as the Biafran War (6 July 1967 – 15 January 1970), was a war fought between the government of Nigeria and the secessionist state of Biafra. Biafra represented nationalist aspirations of the Igbo people, whose leadership felt they could no longer coexist with the Northern-dominated federal government. The conflict resulted from political, economic, ethnic, cultural and religious tensions which preceded Britain's formal decolonization of Nigeria from 1960 to 1963. Immediate causes of the war in 1966 included a military coup, a counter-coup and persecution of Igbo living in Northern Nigeria. Control over the lucrative oil production in the Niger Delta played a vital strategic role. Within a year, the Federal Government troops surrounded Biafra, capturing coastal oil facilities and the city of Port Harcourt. The blockade imp...
