The Nigerian Army on Sunday confirmed the terror attack on Gudumbali, saying that its combined troops of 82 Division Task Force Brigade and 158 Task Force Battalion repelled the attack and were restoring normalcy in the area. Boko Haram terrorists have staged a fresh attack on a military base in Baga in the Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State, a day after they invaded Gudumbali area in the Guzamala Local Government Area and sacked the residents. 
The Director, Army Public Relations, Brig Gen Texas Chukwu, said the terrorists  set some buildings ablaze in the community but no casualty was recorded.
Our correspondent reported on Sunday that the Boko Haram insurgents on Saturday overran the troops’ location in Gudumbali and displaced the residents to Gubio town.
Eyewitnesses said the terrorists captured the community after trooping into the areas in large numbers and shooting sporadically which sent thousands of residents fleeing.
Our correspondent learnt that after attacking Gudumbali, the terrorists proceeded to Baga in the Kukawa LGA and staged another attack on the army formation, with the number of casualties on both sides yet to be ascertained as of press time.
Ahmad Salkida, an independent investigator familiar with the Lake Chad and Boko Haram crisis, said on Twitter that the terrorists seemed to have a hidden agenda by the frequent attacks on military bases.   BLUE HOST DOMAIN
He said,  When attention was on the attack on Guzamala on Saturday, the group staged another daring attempt on another military facility in Baga, Kukawa, on the shores of the Lake Chad. I am not here to argue about casualties. I am concerned with the implications of these growing attacks.
