South East Elders Forum (SEEF) has said it is more concerned about achieving an independent state of Biafra than a 2023 Igbo presidency.
Convener of the group Dozie Ikedife stated this, adding that the Igbo have been promised such in the past but never saw them materialise.
Concise News had reported that many leaders in the South East were canvassing for President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election as the surest route to Igbo Presidency in 2023.
However, the former President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo said he was more interested in using all means to make Biafra a reality.
“There are so many unfulfilled promises and our people often fall victims to lies,” Ikedife told the Sun News.
“If someone has deceived you for about two or three times, if he comes the fourth time you will have a second thought. One is just tired of this country.
“What bothers me is how to realise Biafra through legal and diplomatic processes, and through dialogue without fighting or abusing anybody. That’s my position.”
