Edo, Court admits more APC exhibits against Obaseki in alleged forgery suit

  The All Progressives Congress (APC), on Wednesday, presented to the Federal High Court, Abuja, two more documents to prove its allegation of certificate forgery against Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki. They are University of Ibadan degree certificates, belonging to Professor Emmanuel Dele Balogun, and a report by a forensic document examiner, Assistant Superintendent of Police, (ASP), Raphael Onwuzuligbo. Both were admitted in evidence by the court after the lead counsel of the plaintiffs, Akin Olujimi (SAN) tendered. The first degree certificate in Agricultural Science submitted was awarded to Balogun in 1979, the same year with that of Obaseki. The second document was admitted with a caveat following objections to their admissibility raised by the first and second defendants. The APC and a chieftain, Williams Edobor had dragged Obaseki, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to court. Police nab Kaduna sex party organisers

  Kaduna State Police Command has apprehended individuals behind a planned sex party. Some youths had advertised the event on social media. It was scheduled to hold on December 27, 2020, starting from 8 pm, at a secret location. Male and female were to be naked all through the gathering. According to the invitation, interested participants must pay N2,000 (regular tickets), N5,000 (VIP), and N10,000 (VVIP). The information got to the State government and the police was ordered to go after the promoters. Police Public Relations Officer, ASP, Muhammad Jalige, confirmed that the venue was traced and arrests made. “We are investigating those behind the sex party and will soon give details of our findings,” Tribune quoted Jalige as saying.

  The peaceful protest organised by youths of Ogun State against the alleged incessant killings by customs officers almost turned violent when government officials tried to prevent the protesting youths from gaining access into the Okemosan office of the governor.  reports that the youths, who were led by the Chairman of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Abduljabar Ayelaagbe, the lawmakers representing Yewa North 1 and 2, Haruna Egungbohun and Adegoke Adeyanju, were earlier stopped by security agents as they approached the main entrance of the governor’s office in Abeokuta. But, the protesting youths defied all security arrangements as they bypassed the police and other agents, chanting “nobody can stop us from going in.” As they moved towards the entrance, some government officials had ordered the closure of the gate to prevent the protesters from gaining entry. US VP-elect, hints on citizenship bill for 11 million immigrants

  The United States Vice President-elect, Kamala Harris, has hinted she would present a bill to congress on citizenship for 11 million immigrants. The former Attorney General of California made the disclosure on Twitter on Tuesday. Harris said from day one in office, she and President-elect Joe Biden would act to get COVID-19 under control and save American lives. “We’ll take action to protect Dreamers and send a bill to Congress with a roadmap to citizenship for 11M undocumented people. And we’ll rejoin the Paris Agreement. This is just the beginning”, she tweeted. EPL, Man United offer 22-year-old three-and-a-half-year contract

  Manchester United have offered defender, Timothy Fosu-Mensah, a new three-and-a-half-year contract ahead of their Premier League tie with Aston Villa on Friday, Sky Sports reports. Fosu-Mensah is considering his options amid interest from clubs abroad ahead of the January transfer window. The 22-year-old had drawn the interest of Marseille and Hertha Berlin. Fosu-Mensah could explore offers from elsewhere when he is free to speak to foreign clubs in January, before deciding on his future at Man United. His current deal at Man United will expire next summer. The Netherlands international wants regular first-team football, which he hasn’t been getting under Man United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford. He has only featured once in the Premier League this season, against Crystal Palace and two more as a sub in the Champions League. Fosu-Mensah has been loaned out in the past to Fulham and Crystal Palace respectively.
