Spokesperson for the Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, confirmed the development to PRNigeria.

He said, “I can confirm to you that an order has been made for the soldier to be freed and enjoy the Christmas with her family and friends with a serious warning for her not to repeat such act again.”

SaharaReporters had reported that the female soldier was ordered to be detain by Captain MM Abdulahi, Kwara State NYSC Camp Commandant, at a military detention facility in Ilorin, the state capital, pending further investigations.

A military source had said she was detained for not being “due for marriage, romancing on uniform publicly, absent on parade, indiscriminate behaviour, doing other things aside from her purpose in NYSC camp, disobedience to standing order of social media rule and disobedience to ethics and tradition of the Nigerian Army”.

Akinlabi's arrest and detention was widely condemned by civil society groups and Nigerians in general, who described it as gender discrimination by the Nigerian Army.

Biafra Denounces Cannibalism, Says Alleged Cannibals Arrested In South-East Not Members Of Pro-Biafra Group

The group also blamed the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma for the recent abductions and gruesome killing of traditional rulers in the state.

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has denied that any of its members are cannibals following the recent arrest of alleged cannibals said to members of the pro-Biafra group and its militia wing, Eastern Security Network (ESN).

The group also blamed the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma for the recent abductions and gruesome killing of traditional rulers in the state.

It disclosed this in a statement by its spokesperson, Emma Powerful, which was made available to SaharaReporters on Tuesday.

The statement read, “Following the incessant abduction, kidnapping and killing of innocent citizens of Imo State by the hoodlums recruited by Hope Uzodinma to implicate IPOB and ESN operatives in Biafraland, we the global movement and family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) under the command and leadership of our great leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, wish to once again, dissociate our gallant ESN operatives from these dastardly acts and barbarity.

“The general public should understand that those behind the orgy of kidnapping and barbaric killings in Imo State have no link whatsoever with the ESN inaugurated by our leader in December 2020. The monsters recruited and nurtured by Hope Uzodinma and his co-travellers are the ones unleashing mayhem on our people in their desperation to demonise ESN personnel and IPOB volunteers.

“We strongly condemn the cannibalism and atrocities of these criminals. The camp found at Nkwere and other places where they roasted human beings and kept kidnapped victims in the camp is not IPOB/ESN camp. We have nothing in common with agents of death, and we don't engage in barbarities and cannibalism of sorts.

“What is happening in Imo State particularly in Orsuihiteukwa, Nnempi, Ibiasoegbe, Awo-Mmamma, Orlu, Oru East, Oru West, Nkwere and their environs including Orsumoghu and entire Ihiala LGA of Anambra State are the original plans of Hope Uzodinma to demonise Biafra agitators and ESN operatives and tag them as criminals but unfortunately his plan failed him. His boys have turned their weapons against his people!

“IPOB/ESN operatives don't engage in raping and kidnapping. That's not part of their mandate. They are out to defend them against Fulani terrorists and herdsmen.”

Nnamdi Kanu’s detention signifies Igbos in captivity – Group

An Igbo socio-cultural group, Nzuko Ndigbo, has declared that Ndigbo are in prison as long as the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, is in detention.

DAILY POST reports that Kanu is currently being detained in the facility of the Department of State Service (DSS), on the order of Justice Binta Murtala-Nyako-led federal high court in Abuja, following treasonable felony charges preferred against the secessionist leader by the Federal Government.

Continuing, Nzuko Ndigbo, in a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Edomobi Promise, and forwarded to DAILY POST on Sunday, maintained that Nnamdi Kanu is not a terrorist but radicalized by the killing of his harmless followers by Nigeria security operatives.

The Igbo group reiterated its call for the immediate and unconditional release of the pro-Biafra leader.

It also warned against any harm to Kanu as that may be devastating.

The Nzuko Ndigbo further emphasised that Ndigbo will only accord them the equity in 2023 if Nigeria accords them the same.

It noted that Nigeria owes Ndigbo a political debt that must be paid in 2023 else Igbos will leave.

According to the group, “we cannot be slaves and second class citizens in Nigeria.”

The socio-cultural body also called on all the political parties in Nigeria to zone their 2023 presidency to Igbo land.

Nigeria gets January 23, 2022 ultimatum to free Biafran detainees

The Biafra Nations League (BNL) has given the Federal Government up to January 23, 2022 to free all Biafran detainees, especially the leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB), Mr. Nnamdi Kanu and leader of Biafra Zionist Federation (BZF), Mr. Benjamin Onwuka.

The group said many detained Biafran leaders were in detention without trial.

In a statement after BNL’s Executive Meeting in Bakassi, Peninsula, Cross River State, yesterday, Deputy Leader of the group, Ebuta Akor Takon, said: “BNL leaders were in closed door discussions with commanders of our self-defence volunteers last night” and warned that “it would not be easy for Nigeria in 2022, as what happened this year would be small compared to next year.

“BNL is preparing its ground and all volunteers of our self-defence wing will apply force in executing any action that will affect the economy of the Nigerian state, especially at Cameroun borders and at sea.

“The BNL will not tolerate any form of intimidation by the government or its Camerounian counterpart, which on the other side of our zone, attacked our boys in the Peninsula without any reason whatsoever justifying their actions. Both governments are creating another insurgency by inflicting pains on our people and attacking our group. Our boys operate up to Gabon through the sea and are tagged “pirates.” It won’t be difficult to launch counter-attacks directly on Camerounian territory. The independence of Biafra is sacrosanct and there is no going back”.

We this territory natives which owns the land have defeated fulani caliphate called Nigeria in which Biafra Republic of south east is one of the six sovereign states.

Every community, town, city in Igboland which stand for Biafra Republic of south east must be fully armed now.

Conquest of Abuja has begun. Strike point number one is fulani Aso Rock. Igbos which stand for Biafra Republic of south east alongside other native tribes of this territory must Bomb Down fulani Aso Rock now from all directions to ashes. Only the Sword decides

BIAFRA : South-East adopting APGA as regional party is ‘Biafra’ realised, says Duru

South-East adopting APGA as regional party is Biafra, says Duru

A former Director, Federal Mortgage Bank, Chief Godwin Duru, has said that the clamour for the restoration of Biafra Republic will be as good as actualised if the entire South-East would adopt the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, as a regional party.

The former chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, made the remark when he formally declared for APGA at the party’s State secretariat in Umuahia.

Duru argued that Ndigbo needed a regional party for power bargains.

Chief Duru, who was a one-time Chairman of Aba South Local Government Area, said that all that Ndigbo needed to achieve their political desires was a vibrant regional party.

He further said that from experience he had discovered that any region, which wants to be heard in Nigeria, must have a strong dominant political platform upon which it could negotiate power with other regions.

“If Ndigbo want to secure their political destiny, they should rally round APGA.

“The achievements of APGA in Anambra State is a sure proof that if we embrace APGA Nigeria will no longer take us for a ride,” he said.

According to him neither the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, nor the main opposition PDP can offer Ndigbo the needed platform to actualise their political ambition.

He, therfore, urged the entire South-East to embrace APGA ahead of the 2022 polls, if the region would remain politically relevant.

Chief Duru, who said he was joining APGA with a lot of ideas and goodwill boasted, that the party would take over the reigns of power in Abia come 2023.

Accepting him into the party, APGA Chairman, Rev. Augustine Ehiemere, described Duru as a formidable political force with experience and clout needed to take over the state.

Ehiemere, who said that Abia was in dire need of liberation, added that APGA remained “the vehicle to take Abia to its destination”.

He said that APGA would remain resolute in its enforcement of internal democracy and equal opportunity to all its members.

APGA State Secretary, Chief Onukwubiri, said that APGA had become the party to beat come 2023.

BIAFRA : year anniversary: IPOB lauds ESN for defence of Biafra land

THE Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has commended the Eastern Security Network, ESN, for its defence of Biafra land in the last one year of its inauguration.

The group warned against politicians and Department of State Security, DSS’ alleged plan to recruit 500 youths into the security outfit, saying that it was a plot to deceive Biafrans and make them believe they are in charge of ESN in Biafra land.

According to  Media and Publicity Secretary of the group,  Emma Powerful, who vowed ‘’not to allow saboteurs to create another ESN to confuse and bring harm to our people,” assured Biafrans that ESN leadership is firmly ‘’under the control of those our leader entrusted the responsibly into their hands.”

He said: “We are the global movement and family of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, under the command and leadership of  Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. We most sincerely commend the gallantry of the men of Eastern Security Network for resolute defence of our ancestral land in the last one year of its inauguration.

“We commend them for staking their lives for the protection and security of our mothers, wives and sisters. Since they came on board, the murderous activities of Fulani jihadists masquerading as herdsmen have been put on check across Biafra land although there are still pockets of occasional attacks by these vampires.

“Nevertheless, IPOB worldwide is very appreciative of the ESN operatives for their gallantry and avowed commitment in protecting our land. Bravo on your one year anniversary!

“Our attention has also been drawn to the laughable and disgraceful claims and appeals from those who are being used to sabotage Biafra restoration efforts of our great leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB leadership.

“It’s clear to all that our Leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu inaugurated ESN on the 12th of December 2021 without these sabotures now claiming what they did not do. Regrettably, those who didn’t play any role in the formation of ESN, want to take credit for what they neither knew the process of its formation nor played any role thereof.

“Today they are calling for launching of funds to create another ESN in Biafraland. We are calling on Biafrans both home and in the Diaspora to be very weary of and shun the planned fund raising event which is a ploy by those working for the zoo politicians and the DSS to purportedly recruit 5000 youths into ESN. This is another ploy to deceive our people, and make them believe they are in charge of ESN in Biafraland.”

“IPOB/ESN structure is not two but one under one central command. Anybody making any claims to the contrary is an impostor and must be rejected as such. IPOB will not allow such people to continue defrauding Biafran people scattered all over the world,” the statement reads.

BIAFRA : Stop begging northerners for power shift, support Biafra restoration, IPOB tells Ohanaeze

Stop begging northerners for power shift, support Biafra restoration, IPOB tells Ohanaeze

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has urged Ohanaeze Ndigbo and politicians in the southeast to stop begging northerners to support an Igbo candidate for president in 2023, during the group to join hands with them to restore Biafra.

IPOB, in a statement by its spokesperson, Emma Powerful also warned politicians using their leader, Nnamdi Kanu, as negotiating point to get political positions for themselves to think twice. He insisted that the Igbo leaders rather should support the agitation for a Biafra nation instead of begging for the Presidency position, which he noted can never be granted to them.

He said, ‘we want to make it categorically clear to desperate Igbo politicians both elders and self-acclaimed leaders that IPOB under Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is not looking for any Nigerian President of Igbo extraction under the present contraption called Nigeria.

‘Again, IPOB will never be a party to their begging and fawning for a transient political office at the detriment of our freedom. They must understand that our singular concern is the unconditional release of our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. If our elders think they can use IPOB and Nnamdi Kanu to bargain their ways into political office then they are in for the shock of their life.

‘Some self-appointed Igbo Leaders desperate for power in 2023 should refrain from making unguarded utterances that make the entire Igbo race a laughing stock by Northerners. It makes no sense to be desperate over the power shift in 2023 while illustrious Igbo son Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is still in detention.

‘IPOB members that died did not die because of Igbo President of Nigeria. What we need at this very point in time is the unconditional release of our Leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

‘It is better Igbo politicians, businessmen, elders, traditional rulers, religious leaders and acclaimed leaders including Ohanaeze Ndigbo should retrace their steps and carry themselves with dignity at all times.

‘They must realise that the Northern oligarchy and the Fulani cabal controlling Nigeria will never allow or support any Igbo man to become President of Nigeria. It doesn’t matter how such a stooge wish to please them, they have bitterness against the Igbo. So, it’s better they focus on fighting for Biafra restoration.

‘Any bargains against this divine mandate will not succeed. We call on Igbo politicians, elders and traditional rulers including Ohanaeze Ndigbo to come back; there is no road in that path they are towing,’ Powerful stated.
