Pastor Reveals How Nnamdi Kanu Will Be Released

A Nigerian preacher, Reverend Eliyah Emeka, has revealed how the embattled leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, would be released from detention.

Naija News reports that Kanu was arrested and extradited to Nigeria in June this year to face trial.

The Biafra agitator was remanded in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) after he was re-arraigned.

On July 26, Binta Nyako, judge of the federal high court, Abuja, adjourned the trial of Kanu till October 21, owing to the failure of the federal government to produce him in court.

Speaking on the freedom of the secessionist while preaching to his congregation during the weekend, Rev’d Emeka who is the spiritual head of the Throne of Eliyah’s Ministry International, Abia State, said Kanu will eventually be freed by the Nigerian authorities.

Describing his ‘prophetic message’ as “very very sweet”, the clergyman said; “Nobody can kill

Nnamdi Kanu. They will release him and take him back. He will go back and the race will continue

“So nobody can kill him. It’s a good message. The hope of Nnamdi Kanu’s followers is intact.”

According to him, a storm will happen in the Northern region of the country and Kanu will be immediately released and returned to the Western world to continue with his agitation.

BIAFRA : U.S. ignores small African terrorist group IPOB at its peril

An African terrorist organization is suing U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin in U.S. federal court. It beggars belief.

So how did it happen?

The answer is frustratingly simple. The violent secessionist group in question – the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) – is yet to be designated a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) by the US Department of State. This is despite repeated pleas to do so by longstanding U.S. ally Nigeria, where IPOB is based and carries out its murderous activities.

It is difficult to explain how U.S. interests are served by inaction and complacency on IPOB. The listing costs nothing. But the designation would have significant implications for the group’s continuance.

Let’s start with the obvious: Tagging the group with a terror label would hit IPOB’s wallet hard

As soon as the designation is applied, no organization that utilizes U.S. currency would be able to legally conduct transactions with the organization. By cutting off IPOB’s funding, the U.S. would weaken the 50,000 strong paramilitary outfit and provide Nigeria’s security forces room to train their sights squarely on ISIS-affiliated Boko Haram in the Northeast of the country. Counterterrorism operations against Boko Haram have long been assisted by U.S. agencies working in close coordination with the West African government.

Though IPOB may appear to be Abuja’s problem alone, the militants have served as a distraction and bled precious resources. Over the past eighteen months, Boko Haram has regrettably been able to regroup and rejuvenate. The same is true of Al Qaeda-affiliated groups

Touch Any Southern Lawmaker And Feel Our Wrath – Biafra Group Threatens Buhari

The Biafra Nations League (BNL) has warned President Muhammadu Buhari against prosecuting any member of the National Assembly from the Southeast or Southsouth in the guise of going after sponsors of IPOB.

In a statement sent to Naija News on Friday in response to Buhari’s Independence Day speech vowing to clampdown on sponsors of Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Igboho, BNL warned that it’s militias might be forced to carry out attacks if any lawmaker in prosecuted.

The group made this known in a statement jointly signed by the National Leader of BNL, Princewill Chimezie Richards, Deputy Leader, Ebuta Akor Takon and Chief of General Staff, Linus Asuquo Essien.

The pro-Biafra urged Buhari to present evidence to the public that any National Assembly member from the region is sponsoring IPOB.

According to the BNL, arresting a southern lawmaker will create more problem for Nigeria especially in the Gulf of Guinea where they have more presence and militias loyal to them.

They warned that if Buhari tries to rubbish anybody from the region in the National Assembly they may be forced to act.

While insisting that the Biafra struggle is not sponsored by any politician in Nigeria, BNL said that Nnamdi Kanu and his group started by receiving free will donations from Biafrans all over the world.

BNL said that the Biafrans abroad have been doing enough to finance the movement and not those in Nigeria.

Naija News had earlier reported that Buhari on Friday came hard on sponsors of separatist agitations in the country, accusing them of abandoning their national leadership positions for their selfish gains.

He disclosed that a member of the National Assembly has been identified as sponsor of separatist agitation.

He stated that this came to light following the arrests of leader of IPOB and Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, alias Igboho.

According to Buhari, “The recent arrests of Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Adeyemo, and the ongoing investigations being conducted have revealed certain high-profile financiers behind these individuals.

“We are vigorously pursuing these financiers including one identified as a serving member of the National Assembly.

“This is a clear example of how people abandon their national leadership positions for their selfish gains.

“Instead of preaching unity, they are funding and misleading our youth to conduct criminal acts that sometimes lead to unfortunate and unnecessary loss of lives and property.”

IPOB Will Continue To Agitate For Biafra Nation – Ex-minister

A former Minister of Power, Prof Chinedu Nebo, has revealed why the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) will continue to agitate for Biafra.

Nebo stated that the marginalization and unfair treatment of the Ndigbo in the country led to the agitation for a separate nation spearheaded by IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

He noted that as long as the injustice done to Ndigbo are not addressed and the rights of the Igbo are also not given to them, IPOB would continue to agitate in the South East.

The former minister said these at the inauguration of new executive members of the Correspondents’ Chapel, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Enugu State Council in Enugu, on Saturday.

Nebo added that IPOB agitation is justifiable but the method by which the group is going about its demands was condemnable.

He said: “The clamour for the state of Biafra was born out of the massive ill-treatment of Ndigbo, disenfranchisement of Ndigbo, the unspeakable treatment of Ndigbo that have driven many of our young people to despair and despondency. That is why IPOB was born.

“Unfortunately their methods are horrible, not defensible, unacceptable and they are not passing on whatever it is they want to pass in the right way. So, when you talk to a typical young person in Igboland, they feel like there is no hope for them in the entity called Nigeria and that is why some of them are so determined to the point of giving their lives to have independence and to become free from this shackle that Nigeria has placed on Ndigbo.

“I have always believed in one strong, virile country called Nigeria. Together we are stronger, we are better, we are more massive and we can turn the lots of the country around and in so doing, turn the cause of the black man around.

“The dismemberment of Nigeria is not in the best interest of the black race. In order to prevent that dismemberment, Ndigbo must be given a pride of place again in this country. And that pride of place must come from an Igbo man mounting the saddle of presidency in Nigeria. I think this is very important because if it does not happen, more and more people will become restive and it is becoming obvious.

For instance, right now, one of the most neglected geopolitical zones in this country is the South-East. If you think in terms of infrastructural development, it is like the Federal Government sometimes forgets that there is a place called the southeastern part of Nigeria with regard to the distribution of amenities and infrastructure.”

Banks, Hotels In South East Take Down Their Nigerian Flag In Obedience To IPOB’s Order

Some banks and hotels have taken down their Nigerian flags in compliance to the order of proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB to the people of the southeast to “remove all Nigerian flags mounted in “Biafra land” ahead of Nigeria’s Independence Day celebration.

IPOB had, in a statement, banned the Nigerian flag in the South-East effective yesterday and also declared October 1 a sit-at-home day.

Media and Publicity Secretary of the group, Emma Powerful, in the statement, said, “IPOB has declared 1st of October 2021 total shutdown in Biafra land as a sign of our rejection of the evil construct called Nigeria and there shall be no movement in Biafra land on this day.

“Also, IPOB has declared from today 25th September 2021 that all Nigerian flag mounted anywhere in Biafra land must be brought down, Banks exceptional. IPOB leadership will communicate to banks directly and give them reason they must peacefully bring down Nigeria flag in their banking premises before we do it ourselves in our own way.

“In line with the Memorandum of Understanding and alliance between Ambazonia and Biafra nations, we wish to ask Biafrans to support and celebrate Ambazonia Independence Anniversary on October 1st 2021.

“It is, therefore, the delight of the Directorate of State, of our great movement, IPOB, that we inform Biafrans all over the world of this upcoming Independence day celebration of our great ally and neighbour, the Ambazonian people billed for 1st of October 2021.

“We, therefore, urge world leaders to use the opportunity of the ongoing United Nations General Assembly meeting to discuss the sufferings of the two persecuted nations of Biafra and Ambazonia. Our people have suffered enough in the hands of our oppressors who are in bed with terrorists but derive pleasure in crushing peaceful agitators instead of addressing our genuine concerns.”

Amongst, the organizations who complied is EEDC Onitsha, Stanbic IBTC, Access bank and some hotels.

IPOB’s method horrible, indefensible, says ex-minister

A former Minister of Power, Prof Chinedu Nebo, has attributed the agitation for the creation of Biafran nation out of Nigeria to the unfair treatment of the Ndigbo in the country.

However, he said while the agitation, spearheaded by the Nnamdi Kanu-led Indigenous People of Biafra was justified, the method by which the group was going about the agitation was condemnable.

Nebo, who spoke at the inauguration of new executive members of the Correspondents’ Chapel, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Enugu State Council in Enugu, on Saturday, also knocked South-East governors, who he accused of betraying the interest of the region for personal political gains.

He argued that if justice must be done, the next President of Nigeria in 2023 ought to be an Igbo.

He, however, said South-East governors might not allow suchbecause some of them were positioning to be vice-presidential candidates.

The former Vice-Chancellor, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, who was the guest speaker at the event,  said it was clear that the ruling All Progressives Congress would zone the presidency to the South.

“The Peoples Democratic Party is still struggling on the zoning of presidency, but with many of our governors in the South-East, who are here to serve themselves and not the people, and they are looking for the positions of vice presidential candidate, the PDP may actually end up zoning to the North so that one of them will become a vice-presidential candidate.

“In other words, they are ready to sell our nation, the Igbo nation for their personal aggrandisement and that is unfortunate.

“One thing about all these is the issue of justice, equity and fair play. Getting to power is of the desire of every political party, either by hook or by crook. I think the issue is social justice at this time and that is how to get the party to bring about the future of this country, Nigeria, not about the transient nature of power today.”

While he said the injustice against Ndigbo needed to be redressed immediately to end the secession agitation and prevent the country from dismemberment, Nebo disclosed that the call for separate state of Biafra, which the Indigenous People of Biafra and Nnamdi Kanu were championing, was born out of unfair treatment of Ndigbo, which made them lose faith in the country.

“The clamour for the state of Biafra was born out of the massive ill-treatment of Ndigbo, disenfranchisement of Ndigbo, the unspeakable treatment of Ndigbo that have driven many of our young people to despair and despondency.

The dismemberment of Nigeria is not in the best interest of the black race. In order to prevent that dismemberment, Ndigbo must be given a pride of place again in this country. And that pride of place must come from an Igbo man mounting the saddle of presidency in Nigeria. I think this is very important because if it does not happen, more and more people will become restive and it is becoming obvious.

“For instance, right now, one of the most neglected geopolitical zones in this country is the South-East. If you think in terms of infrastructural development, it is like the Federal Government sometimes forgets that there is a place called the southeastern part of Nigeria with regard to the distribution of amenities and infrastructure.”

He explained that part of the reasons the North was afraid of the South-East producing a president, “is that they believe they have so marginalised and abused the South-East that if a southeasterner becomes a president there will be revenge.”

He added, “They don’t understand that our culture is not that way. We do not revenge. You will see an Igbo president who will make sure that no part of Nigeria is left behind.”

Nebo warned that for Nigeria to survive, something urgent must be done, saying, “The political elites in Nigeria are the most selfish and unpatriotic. If they really believe in one Nigeria, they will want the masses to benefit rather than filling their pockets and those of their cronies and supporters.”

Buhari Says Nigeria's 'Unity Is Not Negotiable' Amid Agitations For Biafra, Yoruba Nation—Buhari

This comes amid growing calls for the break-up of Nigeria by secessionists.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday again said Nigeria's unity is not negotiable.

Buhari disclosed this in his nationwide broadcast to Nigerians to mark the nation’s 61st independence anniversary.

Buhari, who had in the past said the country's unity would not be negotiated, in his October 1 address said, “Nigeria is for all of us. Its unity is not negotiable. And its ultimate success can only be achieved if we all come together with a common goal of having peace and prosperity for our nation.

“We shall continue to work on dialogue-based solutions to address legitimate grievances. But we remain ready to take decisive actions against secessionist agitators and their sponsors who threaten our national security."

This comes amid growing calls for the break-up of Nigeria by secessionists.

Some Nigerians have however called for the restructuring of the country, to give regions or states more power.

Describing the past 18 months as probably Nigeria's toughest period since the civil war of 1967-1970, Buhari said, “The past 18 months have been some of the most difficult periods in the history of Nigeria. Since the civil war, I doubt whether we have seen a period of more heightened challenges than what we have witnessed in this period."
