BIAFRA Join Us In Shutting Down Nigeria On October 1 – IPOB Tells Yoruba Nation Agitators, Others

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has urged other secessionist groups in the country to join hands in shutting down the country on October 1st.

Naija News earlier reported that the outlawed group had declared that there will be operation “No Nigeria Flag in Biafraland” on Independence Day.

The separatist group threatened to lockdown the entire South-East region to celebrate “Ambazonia Independence Anniversary”, which is the same date as Nigeria’s Independence Day.

In a statement signed Tuesday by its spokesman, Emma Powerful, IPOB asked Yoruba Nation agitators and other secessionists to put aside differences and join in protesting on the said date.

Powerful urged Nigerians that have received humiliation, intimidation and killings from terrorists, bandits and murderous herdsmen to join in removing all Nigerian flags mounted in the South East.

We, the global family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), request our brothers and sisters in the Oduduwa Republic and Middle Belt who suffer a similar fate with us to join hands in sympathy protest.

“All lovers of freedom including Christian communities in the North and other parts of Nigeria, who receive humiliation, intimidation and killings from terrorists, bandits and murderous herdsmen should understand that time has come for all victims of impunity and atrocities to unite together for resistance.

“We need to put our differences behind us and rise like one people to defend our ancestral land and heritage against our common enemy,” the statement partly read.

IPOB Group Reveals Those Behind Killing Of Late Dora Akunyili’s Husband In Anambra

Biafra Nations League, BNL, has condemned the killing of the husband of Dr Dora Akunyili by yet-to-be ascertained assailants.

Naija News had earlier reported that gunmen reportedly killed Dr. Chike Akunyili, husband to late former Information Minister.

It was gathered that Dr. Chike was murdered by the gunmen at Umuoji in Idemili North LGA of Anambra State on Tuesday evening.

A source disclosed that the late minister’s husband had earlier visited the University of Nigeria Nsukka Alumni Association (UNAA) where the late Dora was honoured.

Reacting in a statement on Wednesday, the National Leader of BNL, Princewill Chimezie Richards accused external forces of sponsoring attacks in the Igboland.

He urged Igbo youths to resist being used to perpetrate crime.

While calling on Pro-Biafra groups to train their members on intelligence gathering to fish out the criminals in the region, Richards warned that the situation may force every group to arm their members and send them to haunt the killers.

Recall that the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) had denied any kind of responsibility or involvement in the murder of Dr. Akunyili.

The group on Wednesday through its spokesperson, Emma Powerful submitted that it doesn’t kill people and specifically, it has nothing against the murdered Akunyili.

Powerful stated further that the gunmen who assassinated Dr. Akunyuli are working closely with those who poisoned and killed Prof. Akunyuli herself as they are after the entire family.

He added that politicians are the ones behind all the killings in Anambra State.

But IPOB in its reaction to the allegation said those sponsoring the school of thought are only out to tarnish the group’s image and turn the people of Anambra State against them.

Nigeria may cease to exist in 2023 – Ohanaeze youths warn

The youth wing of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization has reacted angrily to the Northern governors rejection of power shift to Southern Nigeria in 2023.

had reported that the governors during their meeting in Kaduna said the demand for a power shift to the South was unconstitutional and would not fly.

The development has since attracted wild condemnations from their Southern counterparts and various groups.

In a statement made available to  by the President-General of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, he said Nigeria may cease to exist in 2023 if the Northern governors failed to adjust their stand.

He said in the statement that “It is now clear that the North is not committed to the unity of Nigeria despite their deceitful and hypocritical behaviour.

“We cannot understand why it should be difficult to allow an Igbo man access to the Presidential seat several years after the return to democracy in 1999 but the same Igbo man is being forced to remain in the same country.

“It is not tenable that Ndigbo would be forced to remain in a marriage where they have nothing to benefit except to serve as sacrificial lamb and the blood for sacrifice. We are no longer going to accept that.

“The Northern governors have clearly shown that they don’t mean well for this country, rather they are preparing to throw the country into a serious turmoil ahead of the 2023 election.

“The Ohanaeze youths want to reiterate that should the two dominant political parties, the PDP and the APC fail to zone their presidential tickets to the South-East, every Igbo man and woman will become an agitator and you know what that means.

“They should get ready to severe the country since an Igbo man is not fit enough to be the President of Nigeria. We have had enough and this madness must have to stop,” Okwu warned.
