Attempted Attack in Aso Rock: Boko Haram may hoist flag in villa soon – Reno Omokri

Following the attempted robbery at the Presidential Villa Abuja on Monday morning, a former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has predicted that the Boko Haram insurgents may hoist their flag in the area soon.

DAILY POST had reported that there was a robbery attempt at the residence of Ibrahim Gambari, the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari in Aso Rock on Monday.

Presidential Spokesman, Garba Shehu who confirmed the attack, on his verified Twitter handle, said it was unsuccessful.

“The Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari has confirmed that there “was a foolish attempt” to burgle his residence at 3:00am this morning but it turned out to be unsuccessful”, Mr Garba tweeted.

Reacting, the renowned activist said the incident is an indicator of the possibility that Boko Haram terrorists can takeover the Presidential Villa as done in some parts of Niger State.

He urged Nigerians, not to expect protection from the president owing to his inability to prevent such attacks.

In a post on his verified Facebook page, Reno said Nigeria needs a new president to save the country.

The post reads: “First Aisha Muhammadu Buhari and Tunde Sabiu Yusuf were engaged in a shoot out at Aso Rock.

“Then robbers raid the Chief of Staff’s house right in the middle of Aso Rock.

“What is to stop Boko Haram from hoisting their flag there next? We already know, from the Governor of Niger, that Boko Haram has already hoisted their flag in Niger State, which is two hours from Abuja.

“If General Muhammadu Buhari cannot protect Aso Rock, you will be foolish to expect him to protect you.

“Nigeria needs a new leader, or there may be no Nigeria soon”.

Buhari, security chiefs meet after presidential villa breach

President Muhammadu Buhari has met with security chiefs and top government officials at the Presidential Villa.

In attendance at the meeting were General Leo Irabor, Chief of Defence Staff, Lt General Ibrahim Attahiru, Chief of Army Staff, Rear Admiral Awwal Gambo, Chief of Naval Staff; Air Marshal Isiaka Amao, Chief of Air Staff.

The Acting Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, Director General of the Department of State Services, Yusuf Bichi, also attended.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Secretary to the Government, Boss Mustapha, National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno, Chief of Staff to the President, Ibrahim Gambari and Ministers, were also present at the meeting.

The parley deliberated on insecurity in the country and steps being taken to curtail the situation.

Nigeria has been dealing with violent security issues including kidnap, killings, terrorism and arson targeting personnel and facilities.

Today’s meeting was held hours after the presidency confirmed the security breach at the State House.

Garba Shehu, a spokesman, admitted there was an attempt to burgle Gambari’s residence, located across from the villa.

The aide said the “foolish” act which occurred at 3:00am on Monday was unsuccessful.

The development has, however, sparked outrage among Nigerians, who are wondering how the seat of power, the most guarded environment in the country, was infiltrated.

Insecurity: God using Buhari to deal with Nigerians, country can’t be Islamized – Primate Ayodele

Primate Elijah Ayodele, the Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church has said God is using President Muhammadu Buhari to deal with Nigerians.

Primate Elijah said God was using Buhari to deal with Nigerians for refusing to call and look up to him.

Speaking with DAILY POST, the clergyman likened the case of Nigeria to that of COVID-19, which has made most people of the world turn back to God.

According to Ayodele: “We are clamouring for change because we are tired; in the Bible, God used Saul to teach them a lesson of their lives. So God has used Buhari to teach Nigerians that whenever you desist from calling ‘my name, this is what will happen.’

“Like the issue of COVID-19, the virus was a mysterious disease that dealt with world leaders who have refused to humble themselves before God; that is what we are seeing. COVID-19 has made everybody humble before God. Nigeria needs to humble before God because God has not started anything yet. If you now take it the wrong way, then you will see what will happen.”

The INRI spiritual leader also dismissed claims of the president administration using insecurity as a ploy to Islamize Nigeria.

The clergyman maintained that God told him that nobody could Islamize Nigeria.

“Nobody can Islamize Nigeria, mark my words; anyone saying that is just using it to score political goals; that’s far from it. God has said Nigeria cannot be Islamized,” he added.

Mbaka bows, shuts Adoration Ministry

Enugu Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka has announced a shutdown of the Adoration Ministry for a period of one month.

DAILY POST gathered that this may not be unconnected to the earlier directive given to him by the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Bishop Calistus Onaga.

The ministry sent out a notice early Tuesday morning informing members that Fr. Mbaka was proceeding on a one-month private prayer retreat.

It was, however, silent on whether it was in obedience to the Bishop’s order.

A message to that effect obtained by DAILY POST read: “Our Spiritual Director, Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka wishes to inform his beloved adorers that he has embarked on a private prayer retreat that will end on 10th June 2021.

“Consequently, no ministry activities shall be held in the ministry ground pending his return.

“He directs that members of the ministry are to observe this period of his retreat as they used to do during the usual January breaks of the ministry, by praying at their homes, being charitable and fasting according to their ability. Adoration! Holy Spirit is our Power.”

BIAFRA NEWS: You declared war on Igbo’s by your shoot at sight order – Nzuko tells Nigerian Army

Nzuko Umunna, a group of Igbo professionals say the shoot at sight order reportedly issued to troops in the South-East is a declaration of war by the Nigerian Army.

An open letter dated May 11, signed by Dr. N. Odumuko and Dr. P. Mbanefo advised the military to tread with caution.

The letter was addressed to Army Chief, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru and copied to the Defence Headquarters, Defence Ministry, the United Nations as well as the embassies of the United States, United Kingdom, France, Russia, among others.

The organization noted that the directive seems to have been given unofficially in a hush-hush manner, making the situation more ominous.

They warned that a ‘shoot-on-sight is tantamount to an order to exterminate innocent citizens as there is no telling who might be part of the collateral, unintended casualties.

“Throughout history, such military strategies or policies always run the risk of going contrary to all accepted conventions and protocols on the rules of engagement, particularly the Rome Statutes.

“In fact, it can be read as genocide whereas in this case, there is a clear and evident danger of such action resulting in high casualties. If the speculation was to bear any atom of truth, then it amounts to a declaration of war on the area.”

Nzuko Umunna said even if the federal government decided to declare war on the South-East or a part of it, then it must observe the standard international protocols for such engagements.

“One of such is the requirement to publicly and unambiguously declare that a war situation has arisen in such a place so that those who wish to, especially the civilians and innocent citizens, can withdraw from such a place. That has not been done.”

The group questioned the Army directive and contended that the situation in the South-East is not different from the insecurity in other regions.

Nzuko Umunna urged Attahiru to clear the air on “this very disturbing issue” and explain the order it described as overzealousness, so as to douse the tension and rumours of planned extra-judicial killings.

NEWS UPDATE: Katsina. How bandits deceived community, attacked mosque in Jibiya

The bandits’ attack which took place at a mosque in Jibiya Katsina State in the early hours of Monday could have been averted if the criminals did not play a fast one on the residents.

The bandits who were reported to have stormed the mosque located at the outskirt of Jibiya town were said to be numbered over 100.

A credible source from the community told  that residents of the community already had intelligence on the looming attack but were outsmarted by the bandits.

Our source said the residents were informed the attack would take place at midnight causing the youths and vigilante men of the community to lay ambush waiting for the bandits to arrive.

Unfortunately, the notorious bandits gained access into the community through an entirely different route without the vigilantes and the youth suspecting.

“We were expecting them from the eastern entry point through Daddara, Kukar Babangida or Magama but this time they proceeded beyond the town and camped at Jibawa.

“From Jibawa they went round to the western entry point near Yunusa Dantauri Hospital and attacked a mosque on the outskirt of the town,” a source said.

Katsina residents in this month of Ramadan like never before have suffered countless attacks at the hands of the dare-devil bandits
