Goals from Fernandes, Mason Greenwood and Edinson Cavani gave Man United all three points against Aston Villa at Villa Park.

Fernandes’s strike against Aston Villa was his 27th goal of the season for Man United.

No Premier League midfielder has scored as many goals since Lampard found the net 27 times for Chelsea in the 2009/10 season.

If Fernandes can find the net three more times before the end of the season, he will be the first Man United player to hit 30 goals in a campaign since Robin van Persie in the title-winning campaign of 2012/13.

Fernandes joined Man United from Sporting in January 2020.

The Portugal captain will hope to continue his impressive display for Man United when they take on Leicester City on Tuesday.

UEFA will decide whether to change the venue of the Champions League final on Wednesday, according to the UK Times.

The European football governing body will meet with the FA and UK government officials on Monday.

The discussion will centre around arrangements for the match between Chelsea and Manchester City on May 29.

Currently, the game is scheduled to be played at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, but Turkey is on the UK’s travel red list and fans have been told not to travel, “except in the most extreme circumstances”.

The UK government wants the match to be moved to London, but a stumbling block is that the Championship play-off final is also due to be held on 29 May. However, the EFL have said they would consider moving the fixture to accommodate the Champions League final.

Both clubs were due to be handed a minimum of 4,000 tickets for the match in Istanbul, which could potentially be increased at Wembley.

French outlet Le 10 Sport reports that Arsenal is ‘doing everything to be perfectly positioned’ for Camavinga’s signature at the end of the season.

The report added that the Premier League club have placed the 18-year-old at the top of their wishlist and ‘a major operation is in the pipeline’ with regards to a high-profile move.

The France youngster has gone on to establish himself as a regular player for the French Ligue 1 club.

He has also been linked with a move to PSG, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Manchester United in the past.
