Sport UCL Klopp reveals ‘special plans’ to stop dangerous Real Madrid player at Anfield

Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp has revealed that his side has made ‘special plans’ for dealing with Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr. when both sides clash again on Wednesday night in the Champions League quarter-final second-leg at Anfield.

Real Madrid lead 3-1 lead going into battle at Anfield after Vinicius scored a brace in Madrid last week, with Marco Asensio also netted for the hosts.

The result makes it almost impossible for the Reds to think of advancing to the semi-finals of the competition and they will be wary of getting hit on the break by the pace of Vinicius.

But the German gaffer said his side will look to stop the supply into the in-form 20-year-old.

Asked if he was surprised by Vinicius performance in the first leg, Klopp said, “I was impressed, not surprised.

‘He’s obviously an outstanding talent. Everybody knew it before Real Madrid signed him but since then he became obviously even better. And that’s cool.

“Special plans? Yeah, that’s, unfortunately, the case.

“You saw one goal I think we could have defended. The other goal, as I’ve said, was just a great, great long ball and then a great first touch and great finish.

“So yeah, we will try to avoid [allowing] the passes in his direction – which is a big task actually! But impressed yes, surprised not.”

Entertainment I did not have sex with Davido’s Chioma – Peruzzi

Popular Nigerian singer, Peruzzi has described rumors that he slept with Chioma, Davido’s fiancée as absurd.

Amid Davido’s breakup with Chioma and an affair with Mya Yafai , there were reports online alleging that Peruzzi slept with Chioma.

However, Peruzzi in an interview with media personality, Chude Jideonnwo, said it is crazy to cook up stories of him having sex with the wife of a man who changed his life.

“Someone said I had sex with the wife of the man who helped me. Do you know how crazy that is? ”

According to the 31-year-old singer, the rumors have made him more careful about what goes on around him.

“Even if you hate me as a person, what did Davido do to you? Anyway, right now, I am careful of every pin that drops near me,” Peruzzi added.

Army chief, AttahiruMy predecessors know better

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru says his predecessors are in a better position to provide details of arms funds approved by the federal government.

During a meeting with the House of Representatives Adhoc Committee on Arms and Ammunition Purchase, Attahiru was asked to explain the contents of the Executive Summary on contracts executed by the Nigerian Army.

The committee chaired by Hon. Olaide Akinremi is reviewing the purchase, use, and control of arms, ammunition, and related hardware by the military, paramilitary, and other law enforcement agencies.

The COAS told them he could not do so because he did not personally authorize or award any contract.

“The period for which you wanted this report, having been summarized in the Executive Summary, explains whatever details you will require.”

Attahiru said the issues of procurement the legislature demanded answers for, “were done by specific individuals”.

He advised the lawmakers to invite them to clarify issues raised and to provide adequate answers.

On his inability to honour previous invitations, the Army chief said: “I was either in the North East, South East or South-South trying to ensure stability within Nigeria.”

NEWS Ex-Imo Gov, Rochas Okorocha arrested

Rochas Okorocha, former Imo State Governor, was arrested on Tuesday in Abuja.

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) operatives picked him at his private office.

EFCC Head of Media, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed the development.

The reason is not known yet, but the Senator reportedly failed to honour invitations by the agency.

Governor Hope Uzodinma had accused Okorocha of misappropriating state funds.

In February, the lawmaker accused Uzodinma of unleashing the EFCC and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) against him.

Okorocha said the state government had not been able to prove corruption allegations against him and family in court.

“I was never a poor man before I became governor of Imo state. I came here, brought my children to invest, brought everybody to invest”, he had said.

BIAFRA Igbo group describes Ebube Agu as jamboree to please federal govt

The South East Revival Group (SERG) has described ‘Ebube Agu’, the security outfit announced by South-East Governors as “another jamboree”.

The organisation said the decision of the governors was meant to please the federal authorities.

SERG President, Willy Ezugwu, in a statement, reiterated that the federal government failed in tackling the security challenges in the country.

He noted that if anti-crime and counter-terrorism policies were working, there would be no need for calls for a special security arrangement in the South-East.

“The SERG sees the latest move as yet another jamboree and a convenient political outing aimed at pleasing the federal establishment rather than the people of the region.

“We practically pleaded with them since the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown to set off a central security outfit but it didn’t go well with them until the first Ebonyi herdsmen attack their host communities.

“It was laughable that the governors ordered security agencies to implement a ban on opening grazing. Is there any law establishing Ebube Agu that has a clause banning open grazing?”

SERG urged the people to prevail on the governors to enact laws banning open grazing and establish the security outfit in their respective states like Amotekun.
