Marcus Rashford names favourite player in Chelsea squad

Manchester United striker, Marcus Rashford has identified Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham as the best player in the Blues squad.

The England International stated this during a question-and-answer session on Twitter yesterday.

The young United striker was asked to identify his favourite current player in the Chelsea set up and his answer was “Abraham.”

Rashford chose Abraham despite the abundance of talents within Chelsea’s ranks and the other English stars at Stamford Bridge.

Abraham has been enduring a difficult time at Chelsea recently and has not played for the team since a 1-1 draw with Southampton on the 20th of February.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has omitted Abraham entirely from the matchday squad to face Rashford’s Manchester United the following weekend.

This has heightened the rumour of the Nigerian-born England International’s exit from Stamford Bridge.

NNPC can no long bear N120bn monthly subsidy – MD Kyari warns Nigerians

The Group Managing Director of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation NNPC, Mele Kyari, says the corporation can no longer bear the over N120 billion monthly subsidy for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).

Kyari stated this during the weekly media briefing organised by the Presidential Communication Team at the State House, Abuja, on Thursday.

According to him, the actual cost of importation and handling charges amounts to N234 per litre, while the government is selling at N162 per litre.

He added that the NNPC absorbs the cost differential, which is recorded in its financial books.

Kyari, however, said that since NNPC could no longer bear the cost, sooner or later, Nigerians would have to pay the actual cost for the commodity.

According to the GMD, the NNPC pays between N100 billion and N120 billion a month to keep the pump price at the current levels.

He said that market forces must be allowed to determine the pump price of petrol in the country.

“Our current consumption (evacuation) from our depots is about 60million litres per day. We are selling at N162 a litre. The current market price is 234, the actual market price today.

“The difference between the two, multiplied by 60million, times thirty, will give you per month.

“This is a simple calculation you do. If you want exact figures from our book, I do not have it from this moment, but it’s between N100billion and N120billion per month.

“We are putting the difference in the books of NNPC, and we cannot continue to bear,’’ he said.

The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, who also spoke at the event, expressed the hope that the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) would be passed into law in April.

According to him, frantic efforts are being made by the legislators to complete work on the bill and pass it, in line with the aspirations of critical stakeholders in the petroleum sector.

“The National Assembly has expressed the intent to pass the PIB into law by April 2021. Every effort is being made to support the National Assembly to meet this target,” he said.

@ Horlatunboshift “ Davido promised Chioma assurance, then went behind and cheated on her. I guessed na only Wizkid Made in Lagos album true love dey now.”

Arsenal’s Elneny refuses to play as substitute, asks Egypt coach not to invite him again

Arsenal midfielder, Mohammed Elneny, has rejected the Egypt coach, Hossam El Badry’s request for him to warm-up at half-time during their African Cup of Nations qualifying game against Kenya.

The Arsenal star went ahead to tell the national team coach that he would not play and demanded that he be not invited to the team again.

The 28 year-old was frustrated with the coach’s decision not to field him in the starting line-up, hence his refusal to come on as a substitute.

Elneny remains as one of the biggest names of the Egypt squad despite that he does not play regularly for the Gunners.

El Badry was said to have overlooked the Premier League star after promising to start him in the game.

“After the first training camp under Hossam El-Badry, Elneny asked not to be called up again, because he wasn’t starting,” Egyptian journalist, Ahmed Abdelbaset told OnTime Sport TV.

“He was constantly on the bench during the previous qualifying matches, and even though he was promised to start he was still benched against Kenya.

“El-Badry asked Elneny to warm-up during the half-time because he was planning on subbing him on but he refused and told him he wasn’t going to play,” he added.
