Those seeking Nigeria’s break up will not succeed – Osinbajo

 

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has warned purveyors of Nigeria’s break up to desist.

The VP spoke at the palace of the Emir of Gombe, Abubakar Shehu, during a courtesy visit on Tuesday.

Osinbajo declared that those fanning embers of disunity among Nigerians would be put to shame.

“Nigeria is one and we believe in unity; therefore those causing problems should stop because they will not succeed,” NAN quoted him as saying.

In his remarks, Shuhe said Osinbajo’s presence was an honour to the emirate and the state.

The monarch thanked the Federal Government for resuscitating Wawa-Zange Grazing reserve.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya reiterated his administration’s readiness to support the federal government’s projects in the state.

Osinbajo is in Gombe to attend the 27th edition of National Micro Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Clinic.

The VP will flag off the distribution of CAC free Business Registration certificates, among others.

biafra warns against linking security outfit with gunmen

 

The proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has warned against linking her security outfit, Eastern Security Network, ESN with unknown gunmen reportedly killing security personnel and burning formations in the South East region.

The warning followed comments accredited to the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo that the personnel of the ESN were responsible for the series of attacks on security agents in South East.

 

A statement from the Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, the group restated that the security outfit was not after security agents but terrorists rampaging the communities in the zone.

 It explained that the ESN operated in the bushes and not in the cities, insisting that those looking for them to go to the forests.

The statement partly read, “The attention of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has been drawn to the unfounded allegation by the Nigeria Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo, that the personnel of the Eastern Security Network, ESN, are responsible for the series of attacks on security agents in South East and South-South in the recent times.

 

“We also take exceptions to insinuations and some biased media reports linking ESN and IPOB with the purported attacks.

“We are however not surprised that the Nigeria Government will easily point accusing fingers at us. We know their antics. They are only looking for another justification to launch fresh military operation in the South East and South-South to kill more innocent and unarmed Biafrans

Former Big Brother Naija, BBNaija, housemate, Anita Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha has slammed those criticising Governor Nyesom Wike for giving Burna Boy a land and N10m cash gift.

Burna Boy was hosted on Saturday by the Rivers government for his Grammy award.

During the homecoming ceremony,  reported that Wike gave Burnaboy the gifts.

This did not go down well with some Nigerians who felt the money could have been used to pay salaries owed in the state.

Tacha, who is an indigene of the state, however, spoke in support of Wike’s action, adding that a public holiday should have been declared for Burna Boy.

According to her, “I’m not a fan of Governor Wike because he hasn’t done much for the people but you all are mad to think what Wike did for Burna Boy yesterday was unnecessary.

“For Wike to give Burna boy a land, N10m and you people think it’s too much you’re crazy.

“You think going mainstream from Port Harcourt is easy? you guys have no idea the level of work PH City Entertainers has to put in to be RECOGNIZED.

Popular Fashion Entrepreneur, Toyin Lawani has come under attack for her outfit to a movie premiere over the weekend.

Toyin in her post shared on Instagram wore a racy Nun outfit but with a slit in the middle exposing her thighs.

Nigerian Singer, Seyi Shay has responded to backlash over her harsh criticism of a 17-year-old contestant on Nigerian Idol.

Audition for the sixth season of the Nigerian Idol music show began in March with contestants showcasing their singing talent.

Seyi Shay while reacting to a singer’s performance on Sunday, described it as terrible.

She said: ”You are never going to make money being a singer.

“Who told you to come for the audition? Whoever it is, you should go back and tell them they are not your friends. That was not a good one. You have a sweet, token voice but your performance is terrible.”

The statement of the singer has since attracted reactions from Nigerians who described her judgement as too harsh and condescending.

Nigerians people react as President Buhari travels to London again for medical checkup

 

Nigerians on social media have expressed divergent opinions on President Muhammadu Buhari’s trip to London for “routine medical checkup.”

 reported yesterday that the President is billed to depart Nigeria on Tuesday (today) for the United Kingdom for a medical check-up.

This news did not go down with many Nigerians, who described the trip as the highlight of the failure of the Buhari administration.

Celebrity stylist, Toyin Lawani has defended herself after being called out over the raunchy nun photos she shared on social media.

The popular fashion entrepreneur came under attack for her outfit to a movie premiere over the weekend.

Lawani in her post shared on Instagram wore a racy Nun outfit but with a slit in the middle exposing her thighs.

This, however, did not go down well with some followers and Nigerians online who blasted her for mocking Christianity.

But in an Instagram post shared in reaction to the backlash, Lawani averred that Nigerians have refused to be liberated when it comes to fashion and depicting themes.

The stylist who insisted that costumes having the crucifix doesn’t mean it is a sign of disrespect alleged that Nigerians would have loved her costume if it was worn by international celebrities.
