Demi Lovato opened up about struggles with her mental health after her body was viciously criticized by the media in 2018. The singer had just checked out of a rehab facility following an opioid overdose when she read an article calling her "morbidly obese."

"I think it was right after I got out of rehab in 2018. I saw an article somewhere that said I was morbidly obese, and that is the most triggering thing that you could possibly write about somebody with an eating disorder," Lovato told Paper Magazine.

She continued, "That sucked, and I wanted to quit, I wanted to use, wanted to give up. And then I just realized that if I don't look at those things then they can't affect me. So, I stopped looking and I just really try not to look at anything negative. I think the positives outweigh the negatives. I think that if they didn't, I wouldn't be doing this."

 

In the first episode of her new YouTube documentary, Dancing With The Devil, Demi details the events surrounding the night of her terrifying July 2018 drug overdose. Lovato reveals that she was sexually assaulted and "left for dead" by her drug dealer.

"I didn't just overdose. I was taken advantage of. When they found me, I was naked, blue. I was literally left for dead after he took advantage of me," the singer shared in her documentary Dancing With The Devil, set for release on March 23.

She continued, "When I woke up in the hospital, they asked if we had had consensual sex, there was one flash that I had of him on top of me. I saw that flash and said, 'Yes,' it wasn't until a month after the overdose that I realized, 'You weren't in any state of mind to make a consensual decision.'"

How 2020 Became A Crucial Year For Demi Lovato

 

The singer confirmed that she suffered three strokes and a heart attack as a result of the overdose, and continues to encounter issues with brain impairment and vision loss. Lovato is now in recovery from her eating disorder and substance abuse issues.

"Having been in recovery from eating disorders, body image and perfectionism are not friends in my eyes, and so it's been difficult to balance. But for the most part it's just something that you have to walk through with as much grace as possible," Lovato told Paper Magazine.

Demi's new album, Dancing with the Devil... The Art of Starting Over, will be released on April 2.

This might be the weirdest season of American Idol... well, ever. No longer is Kellyanne Conway on the news sharing her “alternative facts.” Instead, she is watching her teenage daughter Claudia Conway compete in the national singing competition.But the weirdness doesn’t stop there.

Just weeks ago, Kellyanne and Claudia were making headlines, as the younger of the two leaked video footage showing her mother engaged in what appeared to be domestic abuse. Now, Kellyanne is accompanying Claudia to her American Idol performances, leaving fans to wonder if they’re missing something.

 

Claudia has long alleged that the environment in the Conway household is “toxic.” The teenager backed up her claims in late January of this year, when she shared some controversial clips to her TikTok.

The reels contained footage of Kellyanne Conway as she allegedly hit Claudia. The videos also appeared to show Kellyanne screaming insults and curse words at her daughter. In one moment, the former Republican top aide seemed to tell Claudia that she was “lucky her mother is pro-life.”

In the weeks following the incident, the police did go to the Conway household to investigate multiple complaints. However, many fans doubted the thoroughness of that investigation, since Claudia continues to reside with her parents even after she released the alleged evidence against her mother

Because all of this went down just two months ago, many fans found it jarring to see Claudia appear alongside her mother at the singing competition.

In the last episode, Kellyanne sat in the stands and cheered Claudia on. She even screamed her daughter’s name when it was revealed that she would be heading on to the next round.

Fans, however, had mixed feelings. “I hate that ABC gave even one second of airtime to Kellyanne Conway,” wrote one Twitter user.

“Did Mama abuse her so much she finally cracked,” asked another.

As of now, there is no way to know for sure. Claudia will not answer questions about her family life.

Sport : Mikel Obi, two others need rest – Michael O’Neill

 

Stoke City manager, Michael O’Neill, has named Nigerian midfielder, John Mikel Obi, among three players that particularly ‘need rest’ in his squad amid the international break.

The other two players that need rest in Stoke City’s squad are James Chester and Steven Fletcher.

O’Neill said this on Monday following his side’s 1-0 home victory over Derby County in the Championship over the weekend.

Stoke City now have a 12-day lay-off before they return to action with a Good Friday trip to Bristol City and O’Neill says he will make the most of the opportunity to give his players time away from the training ground.

“We need the rest, to be honest, although we have got a number of lads away with their countries,” O’Neill was quoted by Stoke City’s official website as saying.

“The likes of John (Obi Mikel), Chessie (James Chester) and Fletch (Steven Fletcher) in particular need the rest.

“We will have a nice little recovery week this week, and we have got a bounce game arranged, ironically, against Derby on Thursday for some of the younger players and some of those who haven’t played too much and then we will be ready to go against Bristol City.

“I am hoping that a few of the lads who have been out just recently – the likes of Sam Clucas, James McClean, Jordan Cousins and Tashan Oakley-Boothe – will be available again after the break.”

Stoke City are currently in the 11th position on the Championship table with 52 points from 38 matches.

NIGERIA IS NOT SAFE : Even Governors not safe in Nigeria – Christian leadership

 

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) on Monday condemned, in strong terms, the assassination attempt on Benue Governor, Samuel Ortom.

The organisation charged security agencies to probe the attack, arrest and prosecute the masterminds.

“If a state governor is unsafe despite all the security operatives in his convoy, then who is safe?”, Joseph Daramola, CAN General Secretary quipped in a statement.

The scribe said it was worried about the collapse of the country’s security architecture and the failure of those in charge to rise up to the challenges.

CAN said the presidential directive for an investigation into the incident must be thorough and the findings made public.

Daramola wondered why herdsmen leaders who publicly threatened the Governor are still going about their businesses as if they had done nothing unusual.

“Is the government waiting till they successfully carry out their evil enterprise? What are these people turning the country into in this century? If murderous Fulani herdsmen are not Nigerians, as we are being told, why do our security agencies appear powerless?

“Are they holding superior ammunitions? Are they waiting till everyone resort to self-defence with the attendant consequences? The primary responsibility of any government is to protect the lives and property of the citizens.”

CAN dared the federal government to release the list of names of the kingpins of murderous herdsmen, kidnappers, bandits and terrorists in prisons, Police custody and those under trials.

“If President Muhammadu Buhari wants his name to be written in gold, let him fix the security problems in this nation before his tenure is over”, the statement added.
