BIAFRA : Nnamdi Kanu Replies Aisha Yesufu Over ESN’s Attack On Herdsmen, Cattle, Calls Her Talkative Lunatic

Kanu, on Sunday, had shared on his Facebook page how the ESN operatives invaded the camp of some herdsmen in Isiukwuato, Abia State, chasing them, burning their houses and killing their cows.

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has hit back at human rights activist and co-convener of #BringBackOurGirls Movement, Aisha Yesufu, for condemning the actions of the Eastern Security Network operatives driving Fulani herdsmen out of Isiukwuato in Abia State.

Kanu, on Sunday, had shared on his Facebook page how the ESN operatives invaded the camp of some herdsmen in Isiukwuato, Abia State, chasing them, burning their houses and killing their cows.

The IPOB leader also quoted alongside the footage, “Video of men at work last night across all the towns and villages of the old Bende Division, especially Isiukwuato.”

“ESN has commenced the combing of parts of Isiukwuato forests last night and engagement with the enemy is ongoing and will continue until they no longer present a threat to our communities along that axis…” he added, sternly cautioning the herders.

In response to Kanu’s video, Yesufu, on her Twitter page, labelled the occurrence as highly unacceptable and adding that that no one has control of violence.

“This is absolutely not acceptable. We cannot have security outfits taking laws into their own hands & maiming, killing & destroying properties. This is not acceptable. We must always remember no one has a monopoly of violence and intolerance and we can all be mad. Let the law guide us!” She tweeted.

Kanu, in a statement issued on Monday, through the IPOB media and publicity secretary, Emma Powerful, said, “If you are one of the #Zoo animals suffering from an advanced form of Stockholm Syndrome, may it kill you there. We in the East are not, have never been and can never be slaves to any bunch of retards. Ask the British.

“We won’t tolerate any iota of killer Fulani herdsmen menace in the East. You may be comfortable with your wretched Fulanised existence where you are but we won’t live with that rubbish in the land of the Rising Sun. Where were you when our people were being slaughtered, raped and kidnapped in Isiukwuato? Talkative lunatics like Aisha Yusuf.”

In his statement, he also noted that ESN would start the implementation of its own anti-open grazing law in the South-East, as earlier said last week.

“In less than two weeks, #ESN will commence the full enforcement of Nigeria’s Anti-Grazing Law in the East. Turn into a cow then and see what shall become of you. You are about to understand how determined we are. You have the temerity to talk about the monopoly of violence?

“All these years Fulani murderers in your #Zoo army and police uniform have been killing Biafrans, what did you fools say? Why did you not open your stinking mouth to condemn your Alimajiri Hisbah Police? Did you not see them publicly destroying beverages worth billions of naira belonging to Biafrans, in full view of the public? Cowards and hypocrites!

“The era of Biafrans crying and lamenting the EU and UN has come and gone. The Dragon Flag has been raised! If you don’t know what it means, go and ask. By the time what is about to happen is concluded, you will see Somalia as paradise on earth.

“Yap all you like, hire every inch column of #Zoo newspaper as you like, there is no going back. You #Zoo animals are about to witness the type of madness you never knew existed. Aisha Yusuf, be very careful.”

BIAFRA : STILL ON EASTERN SECURITY NETWORK

The formation of Eastern Security Network (ESN) by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has continued to stir legal and moral reactions.

Indisputably, ESN outfit contravenes Nigeria’s constitution and other extant laws. On the other hand, the Nigerian government is also guilty of this gross infraction.

Both Nnamdi Kanu and the government often operate outside the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The unending assault on the country’s grundnorm by the institution which has the onus to promote and protect it, has rendered Nigeria as a lawless state. This adoption of unguarded and discretionary norm in Nigeria’s political system therefore serves as a premise and justification for ESN.

Moreover, the proverb that two wrongs don’t make a right won’t be adequate to nail the formation of ESN in the country where terrorism, kidnapping, indiscriminate killings have become the new normal. Any national government that fails to protect its people through national security apparatus has created a lacuna for the latter to seek self-defense as an alternative to reliance on government security outfit.

Besides self-preservation, any interest groups or individuals could exploit the absence of law and order in a country to promote their goals. Whether Nnamdi Kanu purposely launched ESN as an instrumentality to further actualize his long-term agitation for Biafra Republic, by waging war against Nigerian government, though contrary to his claim is another discourse.

deaf is the state of anarchy in Nigeria. And Nnamdi Kanu has promised a safe haven to Easterners through ESN. Sooner than later, private security outfits and emergency freedom fighters would spring up in dimensions except the present lawlessness is arrested with alacrity.

Nigeria’s government could tackle the general insecurity menace through the establishment of state police. Likewise, the enactment and enforcement of the Forestry Laws in every state in tandem with the peculiarity of their geographical features to curb forestry offenses and regulate farmers and herders face-off.

Terrorism/insecurity is a global menace. It takes an ethnic colouration in Nigeria due to the existing fragile state of the federation and the government’s failure to keep the country as one entity beyond forceful cohesion mechanism. The government must create a feeling of belonging among the various people of the federation through its policy. With this, every challenge would take a national outlook with a common way forward.

Terrorists Abduct Nine Students of ABU On Abuja-Kaduna Highway, Demand 270 Million Ransom

The terrorists who abducted nine students of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in Kaduna, Northwest Nigeria along Abuja-Kaduna highway on Sunday while on their way to Lagos for a program at the Nigerian French Language Village, Badagry, have demanded N270 million as a ransom to free them.

The abducted students, according to the university campus blog, Abusite, were identified as Okafor Grace, Kyenpia Bulus, Jemimah Badmus, Aliyu. S. Adamu, Synonym Praise, Ziya Asoji, Elizabeth John, Victor Agbo and Precious Mutum.

Dickson Oko, one of the students in the bus when the terrorists attacked but succeeded in escaping, told Daily Trust that the kidnappers had reached out to the families of the kidnapped students, demanding N30 million ransom on each.

During the attack, Oko said he sustained a gunshot wound but managed to escape, adding that when he returned to the bus after the kidnappers had left, his phones and those of others were no longer there.

Also, a female relative of one of the kidnapped students told the Voice of America (VOA) Hausa Service monitored in Kaduna that the kidnappers had reached out to the family demanding N30 million per student.

She pleaded with the kidnappers to have mercy and release the victims, saying they were only students.

Oko and the bus driver, Nuruddeen Mohammed, told Daily Trust that 12 of them were on the bus but nine students were kidnapped.

The driver narrated to Daily Trust how he and three other students escaped the grip of the bandits in the Kaduna-Abuja highway kidnap incident.

Reports say the students, who were on their way to the French Village in Lagos for their language immersion programme, were attacked at the Akilubu-Gidan Busa axis on the highway where the gunmen had blocked both lanes of the road and opened fire on motorists.

The abducted students were said to be at 300 level. The university has confirmed that eight people were kidnapped. But Mohammed, the driver, said he had 12 students in the bus – 10 females and two males and only three escaped.

HumAngle reports that public universities across Nigeria are still closed down due to the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

The news was first broken by Precious Owunna, a student of the Nigeria French Language Village in Badagry who told the ABU news blog of the incident.

She said one of the students was shot while trying to escape, while another woman was left behind because of her baby.

“I’m a UNN student also running my program in Badagry. We got information that some of our student colleagues from ABU Zaria were kidnapped, around 17 of them,” Owunna said.

“Someone tried to escape and was shot. The wounded person and a woman with a baby were left behind by the kidnappers.”

The abduction came a day after terrorists stormed Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria, shot a lecturer to death and abducted his two children.

Abdullahi Shehu, Secretary, Information and Protocol Unit of the Polytechnic, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in a telephone interview on Sunday that the victims were abducted from their homes located within the institution.

He added that the father of the two abducted children was injured by the gunmen and was receiving treatment at Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Zaria.

Shehu said the kidnapped lecturer teaches at the School of Engineering, Department of Electrical and Electronics of the polytechnic.

Mohammed Jalige, Spokesman of Kaduna State Police Command, confirmed the incident and said police operatives had been deployed to secure the area, track the perpetrators and rescue the victims.

BIAFRA : Igbo council urges FG, Imo to withdraw soldiers from Orlu

The Igbo National Council Worldwide has called on the federal and Imo state governments to call off the joint military campaign going on in Orlu Local Government Area before it degenerates to a dangerous magnitude.

The president of the group, Mr Chilos Godsent, in a statement on Thursday, said it may not be in the best interest of the Imo State and Federal Government of Nigeria to militarise any part of the Igboland in the disguise of fighting pro-Biafra agitators.

“We have keenly observed the tempo of the joint military campaign going on in Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State which have lasted over four days and have claimed many lives.

“The military is said to be on a revenge mission to avenge their dead of their comrades who were alleged to have been killed by members of the Eastern Security Network set-up by the Mazi Nnamdi Kanu led Indigenous People of Biafra.

“In view of the above, we call on the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma to quickly intervene on the ongoing violent conflict between the Nigerian Military and the Eastern Security Network so as to halt the wanton destruction of lives and properties of the people of the area,” the statement partly read.

Godsent added that if the ongoing conflict was not quickly resolved, it might escalate to other communities in Imo State.
