BIAFRA Members Waiting For President Buhari In Japan

A statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, states: “President Buhari will deliver Nigeria’s Statement during Plenary Session Three in which he will appraise Nigeria-Japan relations and takeaways from TICAD6.”
In seperate messages, Kanu had earlier ordered IPOB family units in Japan to ensure Buhari is disgraced as he steps into the country on Sunday for the conference, adding that Japanese Law does not encourage impostors to parade in its country.

Members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), reportedly assembled on Japan in anticipation of the visit of President Muhammadu Buhari following the order given by Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the group to ensure his arrest
President Buhari is billed to attend the Seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD7), which will take place in the City of Yokohama from August 28th to 30th. He is expected back on August 31.
He later extend his call to all Nigerians, including the Igbos (Biafrans), Yorubas, Hausas and Middle Beltans to come out emass to ensure “Jubril” is arrested and handed over to Japanese Authorities for investigation.
He said this shortly after members of the group attacked former deputy senate president, Ike Ekweremmadu in Nuremberg, Germany, at a New Yam festival event.
Meanwhile, Kanu said to have forwarded a letter to the Emperor of Japan, Naruhito over his claim on impostor Jubril, the dual version of Nigerian President, Mohammadu Buhari.

Return home and fight Ohanaeze youths dare Nnamdi Kanu

This was part of a press briefing granted by the Secretary-General of the OYC, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike on Monday in Enugu, where he also raised the alarm over the activities of some fifth columnists who he said were impersonating the group.
He challenged the IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to return home and fight if indeed he was a freedom fighter.
The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council has again come hard on the leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOP, accusing the group of fast sliding into a terrorist organization.
His alarm came amidst a report where the Deputy President of the OYC, Mazi Obinna Achuonye was quoted to have accused former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu of hobnobbing with IPOB leader to overthrone President Muhammadu Buhari.
Achuonye has now come out to disown the statement, insisting that at no time did he make such allegations.
He told DAILY POST on phone that “I was shocked when someone drew my attention to it. I cannot understand why someone will dish out such with my name and circulate same to media houses without my authorization.”
He vowed to get to the root of the matter, declaring that “Ekweremadu has been a distinguished Igbo son and I cannot imagine myself doing anything to disparage him.”
Similarly, Okwu at a press briefing warned that if the IPOB did not retrace its steps, the Ohanaeze Youths would match them.
“Senator Ike Ekweremadu is an Igbo leader; Ndigbo, it is not in our culture to be insulting our leaders.
“So, the Ohanaeze Youth Council will continue to condemn the attack on Ikeoha. Nnamdi Kanu should know that he has gone beyond what he is supposed to be doing. This is no longer Biafra agitation and we think the end of his game is here.
“Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council is strongly behind Ikeoha and that it why when he came back, we mobilized the entire youths to show the world that the real Igbo youths are in Nigeria here fighting the Igbo course not those in Germany.
“We are surprised that someone who said he is a freedom fighter, ran away and went overseas. When Kwame Nkrumah was fighting for independence, he was in Ghana, when Nelson Mandela was fighting, he was in South-Africa. He was arrested more than two times. When Zik was arrested for Nigeria independence, he was here.
“So, we believe he is a business man going round, negotiating on how to attack people, collecting money from enemies of Ndigbo to attack our best 11.
“When you say you are attacking our Senators and Governors, you are attacking our best 11s and any further attack on any Igbo leader would be resisted. Enough is enough from IPOB.”
On claims that Ekweremadu had an earlier collaboration with the IPOB leader against Buhari, Okwu said it was tissues of lies from faceless individuals.
“Somebody used our name to make publication against our leader and we disclaim it completely. It never happened; we can never say that. Ikeoha cannot fight a country where he has been Deputy Senate President for several years; for what purpose will he overthrow the government? Is he trying to overthrow himself? Because if Buhari is overthrown, all of them would go too, he will cease to be a Senator.
“On that light, we want to tell Chima Obieze to focus on his job as a lawmaker in the Enugu State House of Assembly and steer clear from Ohanaeze youths. He is part of those this confusion, because his actions and inactions are giving rise to some of these faceless write-ups.
“One misguided Oga from Abia State also claimed that the attack was stage-managed the attack. You saw that international embarrassment, you saw him running and you say it was stage-managed; that person is out of his mind.
“Having said this, I want to end by telling Nnamdi Kanu that if he said he is too strong to launch such attack again, let him step his foot on Igbo soil and try it, we will let him know that he lacks the capacity, just a little attack on him he ran away and was telling people about his dog that was killed, is that the person you call freedom fighter?”

Ugorji made the call in his sermon on Sunday during a special thanksgiving mass to commemorate the 28th anniversary of the creation of the state at Mater Dei Cathedral, Umuahia.

The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Umuahia, Most Rev. Lucius Ugorji, has advised the Abia government to take urgent steps to address the huge infrastructure deficit in the state, especially Aba, the commercial hub of the state.

He said that the state of infrastructure in Aba was deplorable and begging for immediate government’s attention to avert its total collapse.
Ugorji also expressed worry over the growing state of insecurity in the state, citing the menace of herdsmen and their wanton destruction of people’s farms in the state.
The clergyman alleged that herdsmen recently attacked the diocesan farm, destroying crops worth over N2.5 million and attempted “to stab the farm manager to death.”
He regretted that although the matter was reported to security agencies, no arrest had yet been made.
He charged security agencies in the state to rise to their responsibility of protecting the lives and property of the citizenry.
The cleric urged the government to endeavour to pay workers and teachers “promptly, as an when due” in order to motivate them to give their best.
He expressed profound gratitude to God for the human and mineral deposits as well as other material resources endowed on the state.
He expressed joy that the state had produced great sons and daughters, who had excelled in different spheres of human endeavours across the globe.
He further said that Aba possessed great potential that had attracted enormous trade and investment from other parts of Nigeria and West African region.
He opined that with diligent exploitation of the potential, Aba would be one of the greatest cities in Africa.
Ugorji commended the government for lifting the ban on employment, describing the measure as a positive development that could reduce the unemployment and crime rates in the state.
He further lauded government’s handover of schools to missions but said that there were still some hiccups in the completion process.
Deputy Gov. Ude Oko-Chukwu, who represented Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu at the solemn event, thanked God for the relative security in the state, in spite of the widespread security challenges in the country.
Uko-Chukwu also said that Abia had enjoyed substantial peace and harmony among political class in the state.
He commended the efforts of the founding fathers of the state in the realisation of the state in 1991 and promised that the present administration would continue to uphold the ideals of the elder statesmen.
He further promised that Okezie’s administration would not renege on its campaign promises to the citizenry.
He urged Christians to continue to pray for the country to overcome the current challenges that seemed to threaten its peace and unity.

IPOB : There’s secret deal between Nnamdi Kanu, Ekweremadu, Abaribe opposition party to overthrow Buhari govt – Ohanaeze youth

The apex Igbo youth group said it has observed and is angered by the fact that IPOB under Nnamdi Kanu had deviated from the non-violent posture being the foundation of Biafra agitation,

which was renewed through MASSOB led by then former leader Chief Ralph Uwazuruike.

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide has vowed to make public what it described as commercial activities between the Indigenous People of Biafra and the opposition party aimed at overthrowing the government of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Ohanaeze youth said it would expose the reason behind former Senate Deputy President, Ike Ekweremadu and Enyinaya Abaribe’s involvement in the bail of Nnamdi Kanu.
A statement sent to DAILY POST on Saturday and signed by Comrade Obinna Achionye
Deputy President-General of the organization, said, “We have observed and will angrily expose all the commercial activities and underground alliance between IPOB and opposition parties to overthrow the government of President Muhammadu Buhari before and after 2019 general election.
“The involvement of those who are being threatened and harassed today, how he (Kanu) was bailed, why Abaribe and Ekweremadu was involved, and one former minister from Obosi, who is the unofficial link to reach Nnamdi Kanu in foreign countries.
“We observed that IPOB under Nnamdi Kanu had deviated from the non violent posture being the foundation of Biafra agitation which was renewed through MASSOB led by then former leader Chief Ralph Uwazuruike now leader of Biafra Independence Movement (BIM).
“We will expose IPOB with the truth, as there’s a dossier which chronologically with dates the underground alliance between them and opposition parties, so to avert the further humiliation of Igbos, which IPOB ignorantly leads Igbos to her worst nightmarish misfortunes both economically and politically.
“Except IPOB retract their steps and allow peace to thrive in Igbo land, except they change their tactics with mixture of half-truths with fantastic falsehood.
” If Presidency will allow businesses and economy to flourish, if the South East Governors will ensure that Igbos are comfortable with dividends of democracy, and some ports are functional apart from Lagos Port, If insecurity challenges are tackled,
Igbos are looking for a restructured Nigeria along regional lines, until then in the few weeks, Its time to expose the activities of opposition parties with IPOB.”

BIAFRA : Ohanaeze calls for thorough investigation into pregnant woman’s murder

Nwodo decried the growing tendency of some detractors of the state government who are out to destabilise the peace and tranquillity in Enugu State that earned it the sobriquet of the most peaceful state in the country.

In a release by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Emeka Attamah, the President General said that though the Executive of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Enugu State had visited the home of the victim, it was still necessary for him to add his voice to the condemnation of the dastardly and inhuman act.

BIAFRA : Amaechi exposes reason for delayed work on Lagos-Ibadan railway project

Image result for The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi,

Amaechi said this on Friday evening while briefing journalists after the inspection of the project.

The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has said the need for new approvals was responsible for the slow pace of work on the new Lagos-Ibadan standard gauge railway line.

He inspected the project in company of the Managing Director, Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), Mr Fidet Okhiria and Chairman, Board of Directors, NRC, Malam Ibrahim Al-Hassan-Musa.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the inspection was coming barely 48 hours after the inauguration of the new Federal Executive Council by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Amaechi commenced the inspection at 8:50 am by visiting Costain area where a bridge is being constructed and later moved to inspect the over pass at Asade level crossing at Agege.
The minister also inspected construction works at the 10 stations along the 156-kilometre rail line corridor which included Apapa, Kajola, Papalanto, Abeokuta and Omi Adio, among others.
Amaechi, however, expressed dissatisfaction with the level of work done in most of the sites visited and advised the contractor, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), to speed up work on the project before his next visit on Sept. 23.
The minister said that the slow down of work was too visible at the Lagos end of the project, saying it was due to lack of approval of extra works that were needed to be done.
“They (contractors) cannot commence work until they get those approvals. We will go to the cabinet quickly and get those approvals so that they can continue with their construction,” he said.
He also cited delays in payment as another reason for the slow down, saying that the contractors were waiting for a minister to approve their payments.
“Our appeal is that they should please hurry up and get into the sea ports so that we can evacuate the goods at the sea ports, we should at least be able to reduce what people refer to as Apapa gridlock.”
The minister denied giving December as the deadline to deliver the project, saying that he only wished that the project would be completed by December this year.
“If the contractors have been given money earlier and secure those approvals, the pace of work would have increased and my wish would have been a reality.
“What we are saying is that they (contractors) need approvals from the cabinet and luckily that cabinet is in place now for the President to approve.
“We will request for those approvals for the extra work they need to put in place. Once we get those approvals, the speed will increase,” he added.
The minister assured Nigerians that very soon, train services would begin to run from Lagos to Ibadan, stressing that the project was nearing completion.
“We also agreed with them (contractors) to have between September and October, two major ground breaking ceremonies, one is the University at Duara, the University of Transportation which we think it is going to be in September and then a ground breaking ceremony at Kajola.
“We are insisting that they (contractors) cannot continue to manufacture coaches, locomotive and wagons in China and be giving to us.
“So, as part of one of the benefits we get out of the contract we have given them, they will build a factory in Kajola by October where they will begin to manufacture wagons for now.
“From then, they will progress from wagons to locomotive and coaches and Nigerians will understudy them.”
On the loan for the Ibadan-Kano rail project, Amaechi said that the Federal Government was ready and only waiting for the Chinesee to approve the loan.
“If the loan is approved, we will commence construction. Certainly it is desirable, the President is eager for the project. We need to construct that of Ibadan to Kano,” he said.

warning against consumption of Ponmo

A statement signed by the Director General (DG) of the agency, Mrs Mojisola Adeyeye, stated that most of those animal hides were meant for industrial use.

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has warned the general public to be careful of the consumption of animal hides, known as Ponmo.

Adeyeye added that some of the animal hides were pre-treated with industrial chemicals, which were not of food grade and were toxic and injurious to human health.
According to  her, investigations have revealed that some companies legally imported hides from countries like Lebanon and Turkey, while majority of the product were smuggled into the country through the porous borders.
“The Management of NAFDAC wishes to use this medium to alert the general public and in particular consumers of animal hides popularly known as Ponmo on the activities of some unscrupulous business men and traders.
“These imported animal hides are meant for industrial use by leather industries for the manufacturing of items such as shoes, bag, belt and others.
“Health hazards inherent in the consumption of such animal hides include risk of liver, kidney and heart damage, increased risk of Aplastic anaemia, central nervous system toxicity, cancer and many more,’’ she said.
The DG also said live stock farmers were also advised to note that industrial animal hides could not be used to manufacture animal feed.
“The associated chemicals will be stored in the tissues of these animals and will eventually end up in humans when consumed with the attendant effects.
“NAFDAC, therefore, encourage the general public to be vigilant and exercise discretion when purchasing animal hides, PONMO and indeed other food items,’’ Adeyeye said in the statement.
She stated that NAFDAC was fully alive to its responsibilities of assuring the safety, wholesomeness and quality of processed foods offered for sale to the public.
“The agency has increased the tempo of targeted and aggressive routine and unannounced inspections to monitor activities of animal hide merchants.”
