BIAFRA : Dismiss Atiku’s petition, no law requires me to tender my certificates – Buhari begs Tribunal

Buhari argued that that under the 1999 Constitution, he was only required to be educated. He stated this through his counsel,
Chief Wole Olanipekun SAN, while adopting his final brief of argument in opposition to the petition the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar, filed to nullify Buhari’s 2019 re-election,
at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja.
President Muhammadu Buhari, Wednesday, insisted that there is no law in Nigeria that requires him to produce his certificates in a bid to prove his eligibility to run for Presidency.
The President also urged the tribunal to dismiss the petition challenging his election and his educational qualifications because it lacked merit and substance.
He said: “The law is well settled and the case-law is crystalized on the point that the 2nd Respondent (Buhari) cannot go beyond provisions of sections 131 and 131(8) of the 1999 Constitution.
“The case-law is replete with decisions of this Court on the subject. We cannot amend the constitution.
“We need to make it very clear at this point that the Constitution and laws of the land do not expect any Certificate to be tendered or attached.”

BIAFRA : Ekweremadu was beaten for disrespecting Igbo attire in Germany Biafra group

A lot of reasons had emerged even from the Nnamdi Kanu-led IPOB as to why the lawmaker was physically assaulted in Germany.

The Biafra National Youth League, BNYL, has revealed that a former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu

was actually attacked by members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, for abusing the Igbo attire, ‘the Lion Head Attire’.

IPOB, had in a statement titled: “Operation Python Dance instigator Ike
Ekweremadu disgraced by IPOB Nuremberg Family

, claimed that the former DSP was attacked because of his role in the military operation in Igboland
But the BNYL said that could not be the reason, because, according to the group, Ekweremadu and Abaribe were the two defiant Senators who voiced out against the FG’s action and even went to Court challenging it.
A statement to BIAFRA NEWS MEN on Saturday signed by its President, Prince Chimex Richard National, the pro-Biafra group said, “We have followed with keen interest mix reactions trailing over the assault on Former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu.
“[We] decided to study the situation to know what really transpired as per the actual reason the aggrieved Igbos in Germany who are loyal to the IPOB acted that way.
“To me, if the reason was his involvement in Python Dance saga, i think that the people got it wrong, Ekweremadu and Abaribe were the two defiant Senators that voiced out against the FG action and even went to Court challenging it.
“But if the reason was his appearance which does not depict the Igbo culture then their action is justifiable.
“The abuse of our ‘Lion Gown’ is highly condemnable, it is only in Igbo land that our politicians practice One Nigeria in their appearance.
“You can’t see a Hausa man wearing a Babariga designed with Coat of Arms; you can’t see a Yoruba man wearing an Agbada designed with a coat of arm; it is only the Igbo that act cowardly to please their masters.
“Even current Senate President Ahmed Lawan can’t design his Babariga with Coat of Arm and Nigeria flag to showcase he is a government official.
“Ndigbo have to be disciplined, disrespect of Igbo culture will not be condoned, Igboalnd will not be conducive for whoever abuses our ‘Ishi’Agu Attire’.”

Buhari will travel to Japan on Sunday to participates in the Seventh Tokyo International Conference on African development, holding in the City of Yokohama from August 28-30th 2019 in Japan.

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide has urged Igbos living in Japan and Asia countries to disregard any order emanating from the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, to attack, disgrace or arrest President Muhammadu Buhari.

Ohabaeze youth, in a statement signed and made available to BIAFRA NEWS MEN on Saturday by Comrade Obinna Achionye,

Deputy President-General of the group, said, “It was suicidal and foolishness that someone will never participate in assault proposed by him against President Buhari in Japan, and directs gullible igbo youths to risk jail in Japan and deportations, while he enjoys in London.

“Asia countries are not like Europe where someone will engage in activities against a visiting African President without heavy sanction and punishment by the host country.
“So, we call on Igbos staying in Japan to remember that Igbos are not traditionally violent people and will never identify with terrorism, gradually Ipob had lost the consciousness as defender of Igbos now ranking as a violent group capable of carrying arms in the nearby future.
“We wish to disassociate ourselves from the rented crowd that received Ike Ekweremadu at Enugu airport.
“Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide observed that a desperate Enugu lawmaker from Ezeagu LGA who’s a stooge of Ekweremadu in Enugu State House of Assembly, went to Onitsha main market and ogbete Enugu market to persuade touts and beggars to masquerade as Ohanaeze youths to give the impression that Igbo Youths give Ekweremadu a rousing welcome.
“Contrary to his expectations, he was betrayed by lack of communication skills exhibited by a 60 years old man parading himself as a Youth leader, though we condemned the attack on Ekweremadu in Germany but we are not involved in the deceitful outing. We will sanction the lawmaker appropriately.”

Nuremberg is the second largest city after Munich in the State of Bavaria.
The Nigerian embassy has mounted pressure on the German federal authorities to bring the attackers to justice following the initial reluctance of the state police to investigate the assault which was captured on video.
According to an online medium, Nigeria’s ambassador to Germany, Yusuf Tuggar, reminded   Four of the members of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra who attacked a former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, in Nuremberg, Germany, have been identified by the Bavaria police.
Ekweremadu, a serving senator from Enugu State, was beaten up by some members of IPOB in Nuremberg on Saturday at an event organised by the “Ndigbo Germany.”    the federal authorities on their responsibility to foreign government dignitaries visiting the country.
Under section 102 (1), chapter 3, of the German criminal code, attacks against organs and representatives of foreign states are punishable with fines and imprisonment.
It states, “(1) Whosoever commits an attack against the life or limb of a foreign head of state, member of a foreign government, the head of a foreign diplomatic mission who is accredited in the federal territory while the victim is in Germany in his official capacity shall be liable to imprisonment not exceeding five years or a fine, in especially serious cases to imprisonment of not less than one year.
“(2) In addition to a sentence of imprisonment of at least six months, the court may order the loss of the ability to hold public office to vote and be elected in public elections (section 45(2) and (5).”
This is aside the civil case that can be instituted by the victim.
The Cable reported that an official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja said that the Bavaria State police had analysed the attack videos and identified four of the suspected attackers.
“I cannot reveal their identities for now because the German authorities are now cooperating with us and investigating the attack,” the official said.  However, IPOB on Thursday insisted that the attack on the senator was well deserved.     In a statement by IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, the group accused Ekweremadu of being self-centered.
It said Ekweremadu, being the longest serving senator in the South-East geopolitical zone, had not promoted any legislative advocacy for the good of the area.
The statement read in part, “Enugu, his home state, is besieged on all fronts by Fulani militants. Men, women and children, even priests are being slaughtered on a daily basis. We are yet to hear our distinguished senator speak with clarity on the matter.
“We do not expect Ekweremadu to change Nigeria, but we expect him to voice out our anger and frustration in the enemy Senate.
“Those who are blaming IPOB Germany for manhandling Ekweremadu are poor students of history.
“You do not persuade an angry people with patriotic rhetoric. Leaders, who cannot gauge the anger and fury in their land, must be truly blind and not qualified to represent them.”
However, the Igbo Youth Assembly Worldwide has described the attack on Ekweremadu as a wake-up call on Igbo leaders of thought to do the right thing.
The group said this in a statement jointly signed by its President-General, Mazi Ifeanyi Nwaudunna, and the Secretary-General, Mr Casmir Irekamba, in Abuja on Thursday.
The organisation, however, condemned the attack.
“We condemned all these illegal and disordered activities of IPOB as misguided and a play by the enemies of Ndi Igbo to paralyse economic activities of Ndi-Igbo and Nigeria.
“We also express deep concerns over numerous cheap blackmail and name-calling against certain individuals and ethnic groups and President Muhammadu Buhari,” it stated.

BIAFRA : Nigeria to extradite 80 citizens accused of fraud in USA Dabiri Erewa

Dabiri-Erewa made this declaration in a statement she personally signed, a copy of which was made available to BIAFRA NEWS MEN
BIARA reported that the USA authorities, had yesterday released about 80 names of some Nigerians, accused of perpetrating fraud in the country.    The Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM),
Abike Dabiri-Erewa, on Friday declared that the Nigerian Government will extradite about eighty Nigerians who have been accused of perpetrating fraud in some parts of United States of America (USA).      But, Dabiri-Erewa while reacting, urged the accused persons to voluntarily turn themselves into the USA authorities in order to clear their names.
Dabiri-Erewa in the statement, however, maintained that failure to do so, the Nigerian government would find means to extradite those accused if relevant international treaties between the two countries are invoked.
Dabiri-Erewa in the statement entitled, “re: arrest of alleged Nigerian fraudsters in various parts of the United’ States OF America”, said that the commission would continue to monitor the case closely.
She said, “The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission is deeply concerned about the news of the court indictment of 80 persons, mainly Nigerians, in various parts of the US, being accused in separate FBI cases of massive email fraud and money laundering.
“Prior to the court indictment of these eighty persons, of which Valentine Iro and Chukwudi Christogunis Igbokwe are lead suspects, Obinwanne Okeke had earlier been arrested in Virginia.
“We acknowledge the fact that accusation does not mean guilt, and we hope that all the accused will be given fair and speedy trial. We also ask those accused in Nigeria to voluntarily turn themselves in, to American authorities to clear their names, without which the Nigerian government should extradite them if relevant international treaties between the two governments are invoked.
“While such actions ultimately have negative effect on the image of the country, the Commission however reiterates as it has always done, that the actions of a few Nigerians involved in criminal activities is not and can never be what the majority of Nigerians represent. We advise and we continuously resist any stereotyping of Nigeria and Nigerians generally.
“The Commission will continue to monitor the case closely.”
