BIAFRA : Biafra civil war bombs detonated in Anambra, Imo Delta Police

According to the Explosive Ordinance Department (EOD) of the Police,

construction workers at building sites discovered the explosives in Imo, Delta and Anambra states and reported their findings to security agencies.

The Nigeria Police have uncovered and detonated an undisclosed number bombs left during the 1967-1970 Biafra civil war in three states.

This was made known on Thursday by the Commissioner of Police (CP) in charge of Nigeria’s EOD, Maikudi Shehu.

He spoke during the quarterly conference of senior officers and EOD base/unit commanders at his office in Lagos.
CP Shehu said, “Part of our successes after the general elections was the recovery and subsequent detonation of explosives left during the civil war in Anambra, Delta and Imo states.
“The explosives were detonated without causing panic. The explosives were many and would have caused a lot of damage if not for the timely intervention of our department.”

BIAFRA : Nigeria to extradite 80 citizens accused of fraud in USA Dabiri Erewa

Dabiri-Erewa made this declaration in a statement she personally signed, a copy of which was made available to BIAFRA NEWS MEN
BIARA reported that the USA authorities, had yesterday released about 80 names of some Nigerians, accused of perpetrating fraud in the country.    The Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM),
Abike Dabiri-Erewa, on Friday declared that the Nigerian Government will extradite about eighty Nigerians who have been accused of perpetrating fraud in some parts of United States of America (USA).      But, Dabiri-Erewa while reacting, urged the accused persons to voluntarily turn themselves into the USA authorities in order to clear their names.
Dabiri-Erewa in the statement, however, maintained that failure to do so, the Nigerian government would find means to extradite those accused if relevant international treaties between the two countries are invoked.
Dabiri-Erewa in the statement entitled, “re: arrest of alleged Nigerian fraudsters in various parts of the United’ States OF America”, said that the commission would continue to monitor the case closely.
She said, “The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission is deeply concerned about the news of the court indictment of 80 persons, mainly Nigerians, in various parts of the US, being accused in separate FBI cases of massive email fraud and money laundering.
“Prior to the court indictment of these eighty persons, of which Valentine Iro and Chukwudi Christogunis Igbokwe are lead suspects, Obinwanne Okeke had earlier been arrested in Virginia.
“We acknowledge the fact that accusation does not mean guilt, and we hope that all the accused will be given fair and speedy trial. We also ask those accused in Nigeria to voluntarily turn themselves in, to American authorities to clear their names, without which the Nigerian government should extradite them if relevant international treaties between the two governments are invoked.
“While such actions ultimately have negative effect on the image of the country, the Commission however reiterates as it has always done, that the actions of a few Nigerians involved in criminal activities is not and can never be what the majority of Nigerians represent. We advise and we continuously resist any stereotyping of Nigeria and Nigerians generally.
“The Commission will continue to monitor the case closely.”

BIAFRA : UniUyo alumni decries attack on undergraduates by suspected cultists

In a statement signed by its President, Professor Gabriel Umoh, and the Secretary,

Dr. Jude Iwok, the group said the unhindered access into the hostels by hoodlums who attacked the first day and returned the next day to raid another hostel was an indication that insecurity has reached a high level in the institution.

The University of Uyo Alumni Association on Thursday condemned what they described as “unrestrained attacks” on students of the institution by suspected cultists.      The Alumni, however, called on the school management to tackle the insecurity immediately before it gets out of hands.

According to the statement, “We have watched with dismay the growing insecurity situation within the University and its environ. From snatching of phones from students at any hour of the day, the invasion of hostels and heightened cult activities, the state of insecurity in the institution has reached an alarming heights.
“The recent invasion of female hostels twice in one week was a clear indication that the insecurity in the school has hit an all time low with all its attendant negative implications.
“We are deeply worried that hoodlums would have such leeway into hostels, rob students of their belongings and returned again a day after to raid another female hostel with impunity having served notice that they were coming back as widely reported in the media.
“We condemned in totality the free reign of crime that has become a recurring decimal in the University of Uyo, and call on the school authorities to be more proactive, sure-footed and decisive in tackling this clear and present danger before it degenerates to something that cannot be managed anymore.”
The statement called on the school authorities to beef up security within the institution especially around the hostel areas to forestall similar incident.
It called on the school authorities to take advantage of the proscription of cultism by Governor Udom Emmanuel and fish out those involved and hand them over to the appropriate authorities for prosecution to serve as a deterrent to others.
The statement further called on the students to remain calm and be vigilant and go about their studies without any fear, as the government is doing everything possible to address their plights.

BIAFRA : Ohanaeze blows hot over alleged murder of woman by herders in Enugu

Mrs Ngwu’s body was found on Thursday after she went missing on Wednesday from farm in Nchatancha community.

The Apex Igbo Social-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has condemned the brutal

killing of one Mrs. Pat Ngwu in Enugu State.

The group, in a swift reaction, warned that Igbos will be forced to resort to self help, if nothing is done stop the alleged killings by herdsmen in the Southeast.

Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze, Uche Achi-Okpaga, gave the warning in a statement on Thursday in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital.
The statement reads, “The spate of rape, kidnapping and killings in Igbo land by the dare devil Fulani herdsmen has reached an alarming crescendo. The recent killing of an innocent woman in Nchatancha, Enugu, buoys the staccato out cries of national insecurity.
“With the situation virtually out of hand of the security agencies, the people may be compelled to resort to self help for survival unless a drastic effort is exerted, by the security forces, to quench the impending national holocaust.”
Achi-Okpaga further called for thorough investigation and prosecution of the killers to assuage the people.
“We therefore call on the Police, to as a matter of urgency, investigate this condemnable killing of this innocent woman and bring the culprits to face the wrath of the law in order to restore the confidence of the people”
“The people’s patience have been stretched to their elastic limits and only a thorough investigation, exposure of the criminals and totally check the seemingly intractably crimes will assuage the frayed and bruised nerves of the people.”

BIAFRA : Ohanaeze youths take position on IPOB’s threat against Southeast governors, other leaders

Image result for Ekweremadu: Ohanaeze youths take position on IPOB̢۪s threat against Southeast governors, other leaders

OYC stated this while calling for a truce between Southeast governors and members of the Indigenous People of Biafra,

IPOB, following the recent attack on former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, in Germany. Recall that Southeast governors had issued a stern warning to IPOB leader,

Nnamdi Kanu and his group over threats to attack them and other Southeast leaders abroad.

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, OYC, on Thursday vowed to “do everything possible” to shield Southeast governors from attackers both in Nigeria and abroad.      In a statement signed by its President-General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, OYC urged Southeast governors to tighten up security around them.
The statement forwarded to BIAFRA NEWS MEN reads: “We angrily call for a truce, and immediately cease-fire ranging on between the southeast Governors and IPOB over the threat and counter threats being harvested from both quarters.
“We can no longer afford to slaughter our collective image and integrity over actions being sponsored by politicians outside Igbo land to Smack the images of Igbo Presidential hopeful ahead of 2023.
“We have uncovered the real plot behind the recent harassment and threats of placing one million Naira bounty on anyone who gives useful information about overseas travel itinerary of South-East Governors as an evidence that they are being sponsored by politicians outside Igbo land to discredit our leaders with millions of Naira given to them to hack down South-East Governors.
“How come they have millions of Nigeria currency instead of Biafra pounds? We will do everything possible to shield South-East Governors from external aggression being sponsored by politicians to hack down South East Presidential hopeful.
“Based on the intelligence report that there’s possibility of attacking South-East Governors in Nigeria and abroad starting from next month, and we have uncovered the selfish reasons for this unholy alliance between them, We alert all South-East Governors to double their security settings and don’t fall into any traps of being provoked and distracted from tackling the insecurity challenges emanating from the activities of suspected Fulani Herdsmen, this is the finest hour for all genuine lovers of Igbo culture and values to stand up and defend their political leaders and urge Ipob to retract their steps and allow peace to thrive.”
Following the threat to attack Igbo leaders, Southeast governors had, in a statement signed by its Chairman and Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi, said should Kanu and IPOB members make their threat real, they would, by all means, repatriate him to Nigeria to face the wrath of the people.

BIAFRA ; IPOB vows to continue attack on leaders

IPOB also said its struggle for the actualisation of Biafra has taken international dimension, insisting that there was no going back.
The pro-Biafra group said it had no regret attacking former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu in Nuremberg, Germany at the weekend.    The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has declared that it would go ahead with its resolve to attack political leaders.     This was contained in a statement by its Head of Directorate of State, China Edoziem.
The group described those condemning the attack on Ekweremadu as sycophants, vowing not to relent in its struggle for a sovereign state of Biafra.
The statement partly read, “The Indigenous People of Biafra led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will continue in the avowed pursuit of our right of existence as a people, independent of the evil enclave called Nigeria.
“We’ll be unhindered, unperturbed and unfazed by the cacophony of morally bankrupt manufactured voices that appear to rally round one of them, Ike Ekweremadu.
“Going through the vomit of some of these faceless sycophants with no iota of influence on the ground in Biafraland apart from dishing out meaningless drivel in the name of press statements, one is confronted with the mindset of a people living in a Banana Republic in which all forms of freedom of expression is brutally repressed and mediocrity extolled to high heavens.
“This battle which we the Indigenous People of Biafra has embarked upon will be at a time, place and methodology of our own choosing.
“It is imperative to state that in making that choice, there will be no differentiating between the subservient Biafran politician(s) who see nothing and hear nothing wrong when Biafraland is under military siege and their caliphate masters that dehumanize, abduct, torture and murder at will.
“Very soon, we shall show Dave Umahi, the governor of Ebonyi State that IPOB has not only the capacity and reach but also the power to achieve our set objectives and fulfil our promise to the living and the dead.
“We are waiting for them and their trumpeters in all the civilized nations of the world. The story of their humiliation will become a subject of study in foreign institutions.
“Our struggle has shifted to the international arena where every eye will be watching and taking note.”
