The self-acclaimed leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, on Saturday, December 15, met with US-Israeli Jewish philanthropists in Jerusalem, Israel.  During the visit, the secessionist leader discussed IPOB’s vision of the “new Biafra” with the US-Israeli Jewish philanthropists.  According to Kanu, the meeting was part of the worldwide project to connect the family of Israel.  The pro-Biafra activist who came out of hiding in October after the military invasion of his community in Abia State, southeast Nigeria, last year, made this known in a post on the micro-blogging site, Twitter on Monday night.  Kanu tweeted: “On Saturday, December 15, 2018, I met with US-Israeli Jewish philanthropists in #Jerusalem to discuss #IPOB’s vision of the new Biafra. The meeting is part of the worldwide project to connect the family of Israel. May Elohim, Chukwu Okike Abiama bless #Israel and #Biafra.”   With the latest news, it is now believed that Kanu suspended his live broadcast on radio Biafra on Saturday in order to have a discussion with the US-Israeli Jewish philanthropists.
Kanu is leading a group seeking secession from Nigeria. The group has since been proscribed by the Nigerian Government.

Buhari: l’ll no longer complain about the problems I inherited

Bilderesultat for Buhari: l’ll no longer complain about the problems I inherited
He said Boko Haram insurgents have been able to launch attacks in recent months because “they know the area more than the soldiers”.  Buhari said: “Those in the north-east will tell you that before we came, the so-called Boko Haram used to hold about 17 local governments. Now, physically, they are not holding any local government. So they have resorted to real guerilla tactics of hit and run.  “They mobilise, hit targets and then disappear again because they know the area more than the soldiers that are defending them. Our soldiers are from Port Harcourt, Lagos, Sokoto, but they are locally there and know the terrain more than the soldiers.”
Buhari said he “asked for it” by relentlessly vying for office four times before emerging president in 2015.  He made the comments while speaking with a cross-section of Nigerians in Poland on the sidelines of the global summit on Climate Change.    The president said: “We inherited so many problems. Actually, I have said I will not complain because I asked for it. I tried to become President three times and I lost, but I was lucky the fourth time, I became one, so I can’t complain”
“Who asked me to do it again? Three times I ended up in the Supreme Court. The third time, I said, ‘God dey’ and the fourth time, God and technology, using the permanent voter card and the card readers, they couldn’t rig the elections; so I won.”  Speaking on the security situation in the country, Buhari said significant progress has been made in the war against insurgency. President Muhammadu Buhari says he has resolved to stop complaining about the problems his administration inherited when it came into office.

In the live broadcast via radio Biafra, the IPOB leader, who resurfaced in Jerusalem, Israel on 19 October after the military invasion of his community in Abia state, countered the assertion of the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, alleging he said President Muhammadu Buhari was cloned.  The self-acclaimed leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu, has delivered his seventh broadcast from his base in Israel.  Recall that the Minister had said the idea of Buhari being cloned was “not only absolute idiotic but also sheer bunkum.”
The Minister said the insinuation “does not require any response from any responsible government or its agencies,” apparently paying deaf ears to Kanu’s claims.  “If you’re not intelligent enough, you will think Nnamdi Kanu said that Buhari was cloned into Jubril, that was not what I said. I said that Jubril is an impostor. They brought him in to act and behave like the dead Buhari. I never said he was cloned. But you see how clever these lairs are? Like lying Mohammed. “In a move that betrayed the shallowness of the zoo media and gangsters in Aso Rock. Lai Mohammed and all the rest of them. The stupid introduction of cloning into the narrative was a deliberate ploy to confuse you because they know you are black, you will be confused,” he said.  The IPOB leader also said Nigeria’s Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo will not be President of the country.   “Osinbajo is a coward that is why he’s not the President. Osinbajo is a complete fool that is why he is not the President of the zoo,” the IPOB leader said of the Vice President.    Speaking further, the pro-Biafra activist said Dora Akunyili, a former Information Minister, sacrificed her life to make Goodluck Jonathan, the then Vice President under Umaru Yar’adua, to become President of Nigeria.        Listen to the full broadcast below…:   LIVE VIDOE

Legal battle over suit seeking sovereign state of Biafra ‎commence Feb. 25

Bilderesultat for Legal battle over suit seeking sovereign state of Biafra ‎commence Feb. 25
The Abuja division of the  Federal High Court has  fixed February 25, 2019 to commence hearing in the self determination  suit between the Incorporated Trustees of Bilie Human Rights Initiative, representing the Indigenous People of Biafra  (IPOB) and the Federal Government of Nigeria and Attorney General of the Federation (AGF).
The suit is specifically seeking the  self determination and actualization  of the sovereign State of Biafra through legal means.    Attached to the suit as exhibits include the United Nations, UN declaration of the rights of the indigenous Peoples, Res. 61/295 of 2007 and articles 19- 22, African charter on Human Rights and Peoples Rights (Ratification and Enforcement) act Cap 10, laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1990 (now LFN, 2004).
Also attached the suit is the ancient map of Africa in 1662, which showed the three kingdoms in West Africa from where Nigeria was created.
The three kingdoms listed  were the kingdom of Zamfara in the North, the kingdom of Biafra in the East,  and the kingdom of Benin in the West.  The 4th kingdom, Oyo empire was not contained in the said map, but was enlisted as a great kingdom in West Africa as described in section 4.11- 4.14 of these policy statements.
Justice Babatunde Quadri adjourned the case to enable him study the case file in view of what he described as the sensitive nature of the matter “so as to arrive at the justice of the case.”
Legal hostilities in the suit marked FHC/OW/CS/192/2013 started in the Owerri division of the court before it was transferred to Abuja at the instance of the Federal government.
‎The IPOB, which sued Nigeria in a representative capacity are defined as “ the people inhabiting three contiguous regions, namely; South-east, parts of South- south; and parts of the Middle Belt regions of Nigeria.
This  covers the territorial jurisdiction where these policy statements and orders apply under customary law.
It is the contention of the group in its counter affidavit to the preliminary objection filed by the Federal government that “If Biafra is carved out of the present Nigeria today as a sovereign and Independent nation, Nigeria has nothing to loss, as Nigeria will still remain great and giant of Africa with abundant peace, progress, unity, strong economy, political, religious and cultural harmony that shall be without comparison within the African sub-region and beyond.
The applicants further prayed the court to transfer the case back to Federal High Court Owerri and adjourned sine-die (indefinitely) under the sister suit No: FHC/CS/124/2017 which was filed first by applicants/responsents challenging the proscription order of IPOB as a terrorist organisation is heard.
Dr. Innocent Amadi, President of Billie Human Rights Initiative, who deposed to the 13 paragraph counter affidavit averred that “In order to terminate the present suit by all means, the Federal Government took undue advantage of the rift with Nnamdi Kanu’s faction of IPOB in filling an ex-parte application at the Federal High Court, Abuja presided over by the then Acting Chief Judge, Justice Abdul Karafati to horridly secure an ex-parte order to kill permanently our struggle for self determination and our genuine and lawful efforts to actualize the sovereign State of Biafra through legal means.”
‎While the applicant was represented by Ohaeto Uwazie who held the brief of Dr. Francis Dike (SAN), the Federal government was represented in yesterday’s proceedings by Mrs. B.O. Akinseyi-George who stood in for Prof. Yemi Akinseyi-George (SAN).
The Federal government had in its preliminary objection asked the court to dismiss the suit for being incompetent, illegal and incurably bad by virtue of the order made on September 20, 2017, by Justice Abdul Karafati which proscribed IPOB as a terrorist organisation.   The suit which was filed on September13, 2013, has suffered several setbacks and adjournments. At the resumed hearing of the case on Thursday, November 24, 2016, the trial Judge, Justice I .A. Alagoa threatened to withdraw from the case if the claimants failed to put their house in order.  Two persons, Engr. Innocent Obinna Amadi, and Elder George Michael Umoren had introduced themselves as President, and acting President of the group, respectively. The contention was, however, resolved in favour of Amadi through the affirmation of the originating summons.
The lead counsel for the group, Prof Francis Dike, SAN thereafter opened his case reminding the judge of the order of the court made on May 3, 2016, on arguments for jurisdiction of the court on the case.  Thereafter, the defense lawyer, Afolabi, and Dike, SAN endorsed their written addresses. Legal arguments put forward by Dike on the propriety of the court assuming territorial jurisdiction in the case eventually scaled through with fierce opposition from the defense lawyer, Afolabi.
After a brief adjournment, the judge returned to fix the date for ruling. The Judge before adjourning the matter to December 15, 2016 read a letter signed by the President- General of IPOB, Justice Eze – Ozobu (rtd),the General Secretary, Col Joe Achuzia, (rtd) and the Deputy President – General Dr Dozie Ikedife on the consolidation of their legal team, which comprises Dike, Barrister Emeharaole,  Barrister Chukwu Nwachukwunta, and Barrister Thomas Agbago.
In the suit, No FHC/Ow/CS/192/2013,  The court sat for the first time on October 25, 2013 and Nigeria was represented by Barrister D.U Amon, Deputy Director, Federal Ministry of Justice. On December 2, 2013. Dr Fabian Ajogwu, SAN, a Lagos based private legal practitioner filed the defense before Justice S. M Shuaibu.  After several setbacks and adjournments, the second hearing took place on February 24, 2014. Despite two subsequent mentions in 2015, little progress was made.

Asari Dokubo ‘fights’ Nnamdi Kanu over 2019 elections [VIDEO]

Ex-Niger-Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubo, has expressed his disagreement with Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), over his call for the boycott of the 2019 general elections by the Southeast and South-south region.  Dokubo made his views known in a six minutes video which surfaced on the social media on Monday.  Kanu had over the weekend urged IPOB supporters and sympathizers in the two geopolitical zones to shun the 2019 general election unless the Federal Government announced a date for Biafra referendum.   Reacting to the call, Dokubo argued that heeding Kanu’s advice was suicidal since it would be tantamount to empowering those opposed to the Biafra aspirations with resources from the national treasury to frustrate the people’s struggle.
He went further to point out that pro-independent agitators in Spain, Ireland and Palestine contested elections and won seats into political offices in a bid to push their agenda rather than boycott general elections in their respective nations.
His words: “Fellow Biafrans and compatriots, our goal is the freedom of our motherland. It is not about the celebration and deification of individuals. It is not about the appropriation of our collective struggle by an individual, group of individuals or an organisation. The Biafra struggle is for the freedom of all Biafrans.  “But we have to clear some misconceptions. These misconceptions is that people who are fighting for freedom do not get involved in political participations.
“Let us come to the touching issue of election boycott. It is standing history on its head to say that we should boycott elections.
“In Catalan, the pro-Catalan independent party is contesting election even after the imperialists Spanish government dissolved (Catalan) parliament and government and cancelled elections. But they still contested and won election and are in power.
“The pro-independent Scottish party is contesting election; they continue to contest election and control the government of Scotland.
“The pro-independent Northern Ireland Party, the Irish Republican Army thought its political wing is contesting elections.
“Hamas who are pro-independent parties or organization in Palestine are contesting elections.
“How can you give resources to empower the hands of the enemies of our struggle? I am not from Anambra state but if we had gone to vote in Anambra, Obiano would not be there (as governor).
“Obiano is an enemy of our people. Today he has sold our land to General Muhammadu Buhari or his double that is in Aso Rock because I do not believe the man in Aso Rock is General Muhammadu Buhari.
“When people tell us the truth, we don’t want to accept. We want to impose our will which is not working and is anti-our people.
“We frighten our people, run away from soldiers, we run away from occupation forces, we run away from police. Why would we do that? Who are we deceiving?
“Finally, no outsider can give us freedom. They have not done it anywhere. It is we, with our own show of valour and commitment, can give is freedom.” WATCH VIDOE HERE
