This is as the group accused President Buhari of running a tribal and corrupt government. The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) on Sunday claimed that going by happenings in the country, President Muhammdu Buhari could be Nigeria’s last President.
The pro-Biafra group made the claims in a statement made available to DAILY POST by its leader, Comrade Uchenna Madu, where he said Buhari was not fighting corruption but was favouring his kinsmen against other parts of the country.
Madu said rather than work as a leader for all the sections of the country, Buhari was pursuing ethnic and religious agenda.
He said in the statement that “President Buhari have shown to the world that he is an unrepentant and resolute promoter of Islamic fundamentalism.”
He further alleged that under the current administration, “the people of Biafra, Middle Belt and Oduduwa have watched, seen and experienced the unleashing of terrorist and genocidal wars, with the backing of Nigeria security agencies manned by Buhari’s kinsmen against the armless and innocent citizens of Biafra, Oduduwa and Middle Belt.
“The consciousness for survival of the the people of Biafra, Oduduwa and Middle Belt have been reawakened and charged for self-defense and self determination.
“We insist that President Buhari shall be the last president of this geographical expression called Nigeria because 2019 will surely manifest the last doom of Nigeria.”
On corruption in governance, Madu said “since the inception of democratic rule in Nigeria, the country has never be run in such high magnitude of illiterate tribal domination and corrupt tendencies.
“Records has it that President Obasanjo sacked his IGP Tafa Balogun for corruption. He backed the impeachment of the then Senate President, Adolfus Wabara for corruption allegations. He also sacked his own ministers, Fabian Osuji, S.M Afolabi, Hussein Akwanga, Tim Menakaya, etc for corruption cases. He also sacked Mrs Mobolaji Osomo for administrative infraction.
“The same way, late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua sacked Mrs Adenike Grange as Minister of Health for administrative infraction.
“It is on records that President Jonathan also sacked Stella Odua for corruption allegations, though she was one of the most powerful ministers in President Jonathan’s administration.
“President Jonathan also sacked Mr. Abdulrasheed Maina as the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reform for issues of corruption.”
“Who has President Buhari sacked for the reported cases of corruptions and infractions in his government?” He queried.
He added that “on the case of former SGF, Babachir Lawal, we wish to remind that the same President Buhari wrote the Senate, defended and exonerated Babachir of all wrongdoings leveled against him. It was the cries of citizens that forced him to sack Babachir and have him replaced with his own brother, Boss Mustapha. In other words, Mr. Babachir brought his own replacement.
“MASSOB wish to remind the citizens that president Buhari also re-appointed the sacked corrupt men as a compensation for being Fulanis after they were all sacked for corruption and violation of their oaths of offices.
“Abdulrasheed Maina was the chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reform. He was secretly recalled and reinstated by President Buhari. He was even promoted to the position of Director in charge of Human Resources in the Ministry of Interior. Maina was dismissed by President Jonathan in 2013 following recommendations by the Office of the Head of Service. He was accused of stealing about 100billion naira from the pension fund.
“Zakari Biu (CP) was dismissed following his complicity in the escape from police detention of notorious Boko Haram suspect, Kabiru Sokoto. He was reinstated and promoted to the rank of AIG by President Buhari before he was gloriously retired from active service.
“Prof Usman Yusuf (NHIS Boss) was accused of squandering over 997 million naira from the schemes intervention fund. Investigation was carried out and he was dully sacked by the minister of health, but because he is President Buhari’s brother, he was recently reinstated.
“We know that President Buhari is not fighting corruption or upholding rule of law, but using the estate called Nigeria to enrich and project his Fulani kinsmen against the rest of the citizens. President Buhari’s government has finally exposed the fraudulent foundation of the British establishment called Nigeria.”

BIAFRA :What Igbo elders will do if Buhari fails to remove IPOB from terrorist’ list – Prof. Nwabueze

He said this while insisting that he will not be part of any kind of peace talk until the Federal Government reverses the proscription of the IPOB and removed it from its list of terrorist’ organisations. A renowned constitutional lawyer, Prof. Ben Nwabueze has said that if President Muhammadu Buhari-led government continues its alleged injustice on the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Igbo elders be forced to takeover the agitation.
He stated this when the leadership of IPOB visited him in his Kosisieme Family Estate residence in Atani, Ogbaru Local Government Area, Anambra State.
The IPOB had gone to apologise to him and the leadership of Eastern Consultative Assembly, ECA, for disrupting their meeting in Enugu on February 27, 2018.
Prof. Nwabueze said, “If the injustice being meted by the Federal Government on IPOB is not addressed, it will get to the stage when it will become an all embracing Igbo movement, that elders like me will take over the agitation and it will spell doom for the country.
“The injustice meted on Ndigbo and everything concerning them in Nigeria, justify the agitation by IPOB,” adding that “injustice against Ndigbo, dates back to 1965 when the Governing Council of University of Lagos, dominated by the Yoruba attempted to illegally remove a Vice Chancellor of Igbo extraction of the institution, Prof. Enyi Njoku.
“I still remember the story of University of Lagos when on 2nd March 1965, then I was a lecturer in the newly established University of Lagos, they attempted to remove Prof. Enyi Njoku as the Vice Chancellor and I said no, we will not accept that. I mobilised all the university students and lecturers in protest and the university was closed down for a whole session.
“We fought the Federal Government of Alhaji Tafawa Balewa to a stand still. I was arrested and sentenced to six months imprisonment by a Yoruba Magistrate for leading the protest and we appealed the judgment and a Sierra-Leonian Judge, J.S Taylor threw the judgment away and reversed my six months imprisonment and I regained my freedom and there was jubilation everywhere in Lagos by Ndigbo.
He lambasted the current administration for proscribing IPOB when organisations and associations like armed herdsmen, whom he said had massacred and slaughtered many Nigerians and are still killing people, have not been proscribed or declared a terrorist organisation.
“I will not be part of any kind of peace talk until the IPOB is unproscribed, until the declaration of IPOB as a terrorist organisation is removed. If the Federal Government has the courage to meet these two conditions, okay. We can talk peace and I will be there. If not, then count me out.
“I will not participate in any kind of peace talk so long as IPOB remains proscribed, so long as IPOB remains a terrorist group or organisation in the eye of the Federal Government. IPOB is only agitating for Biafra and self determination; they have killed nobody. On the contrary, IPOB members have been killed and are still being killed by the Federal Government’s troops.
“Nothing has been done to those who have committed murder and slaughtered innocent and law abiding citizens. You have not even disarmed the herdsmen, they are still moving about with AK 47riffles slaughtering people all over the places.”

He said he cautioned Ojukwu as the war progressed to surrender due to the suffering of the civilian population in the Southeast. Matthew Mbu, a former Foreign Minister and United Nations, UN, ambassador, has revealed how late Biafra warlord, Dim Odimegwu Chukwuemeka Ojukwu, plotted to detain him after the Civil War.
Mbu said people around Ojukwu convinced the warlord to detain him because of his advice to end the war.
These revelations were made public through an autobiography the late ex-Minister left behind to be published by his family.
The book entitled “Dignity in Service,” is due for public presentation on Tuesday next week at the Yar’Adua International Conference Centre, Abuja
He said, “We had the hawks and the doves, on the Biafra and the federal side that made the contest bloody. As the war progressed, I cautioned Ojukwu based on the realities that were obvious, especially the suffering of the civilian population. The hawks of the civil war were in their own world.
“They convinced Ojukwu to detain me because of my advice of caution. I remember when I once came in from a foreign trip, Chief M. D. Yusuf, my friend said: ‘Do you know how close you were to being detained?
“We were surprised you weren’t detained. Ojukwu was to detain you, your friend was to detain you, we knew he was going to detain you.’ I said, ‘Yes when I came back from my foreign missions, they saw me and they began to cry and said you are going to be detained, he is going to detain you’, because I told him the truth.
“My overriding interest was just to bring peace to the whole situation. That was how I led the Biafran diplomacy during the war and eventually signed the communiqué that ended the war. Some people who went on diplomatic mission never came back again. But I was going out and coming in frequently.”

The PDP chieftain claimed that the said sum will be used to fund President Buhari’s 2019 re-election campaign.”Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has revealed real reasons the Federal Government approved $1 billion for the procurement of security equipment to fight Boko Haram insurgency.
According to him, the abducted Dapchi Girls was only stage-managed by the government to justify the release of the money so it could be diverted for re-election campaigns.
Fani on Twitter wrote: ” It is common knowledge, and I wrote it at the time, that Dapchi had one purpose:it was stage-managed by the govt. to justify the release of yet another $1 billion dollars to “fight Boko Haram.”
”Truth is the money will be used, not for Boko Haram, but to fund Buhari’s 2019 re-election campaign.”

Speaking at his Abuja residence during an interactive session with a faith-based group, Catholic Singles Forum (CSF), the Archbishop said: “The federal government was quick to declare Biafra agitators as terrorists. But Fulani herdsmen are killing people today and similar action has not been taken against them.”

The Catholic Archbishop of Abuja, John Cardinal Onaiyekan, yesterday decried how the Federal government handled the issue of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), lamenting that injustice was meted out on them.
He also faulted the President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government’s adamancy in refusing to proscribe armed Fulani herdsmen as terrorists.
“If something is not done about the security situation in the country, people will keep losing faith in the government and others might soon pick up arms to defend themselves,” he warned.
BIAFRA NATION recalls that the federal government last year proscribed IPOB following its declaration as a terrorist group.
