IPOB:WAEC announces new rules on examination malpractice, reveals what will happen to erring candidates

The West African Examination Council, WAEC, has revealed what will happen to students found guilty of examination malpractice.
WAEC said students caught in examination malpractice will not be allowed to take the exam for some years.
This was part of the resolutions made at the recent 65th Nigeria examinations committee (NEC) meeting which held in Lagos and contained in a communiqué signed by Demianus Ojijieogu, head, public affairs.
The committee approved various sanctions for all established cases of malpractice.
The communiqué reads, “In the course of considering various reported cases of malpractice, the committee, after diligent deliberations approved appropriate sanctions in all established cases of malpractice, as prescribed by the rules and regulations governing the conduct of the council’s examination.
“It approved the entire results of candidates involved in proven cases, which attract cancellation of entire results (CER) while subject results of those involved in proven cases which attract cancellation of subject results (CSR) be similarly cancelled.
“In addition, some candidates will also suffer other sanctions such as barring them from sitting for the council’s examinations for a certain number of years.
“The decision of the committee will be implemented without delay and the affected candidates and examination centres duly informed by the council. However, the results of candidates who were exonerated by the committee will be released.”

BIAFRA NATION:IPOB reveals what they will do until Nnamdi Kanu returns

This was contained in a statement signed by IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful. The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on Saturday, said it would stage fresh protests in 88 countries to compel the Federal Government to produce its leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
He noted that the absence of its leader in the country did not mean that the struggle for Biafra was over.
“It is a known fact that IPOB is rooted in every community and town in the South-South and South-East. Our presence is felt even in remote villages where IPOB family members are preaching the gospel of restoration of Biafra.
“So, rather than diminish, our influence is growing on a daily basis. Our positive impact resonates with the people. Our presence in over 88 countries of the world is a testament to our global influence.
“Everybody has come to the realisation that our leader is the only person that can make a difference that is capable of shaking the foundations of Nigeria. The marginalised and the oppressed all miss him. We are still conducting our meetings across the world and pursuing vigorously the liberation of the Biafran people. “We will continue our protests until the Nigerian Army releases our leader, Nnamdi Kanu, whom they kidnapped or presumably killed during the Operation Python Dance II in his hometown on September 14, 2017,” the statement read.

IPOB:Biafran agitators lack experience, says Ohanaeze

Image result for Biafran agitators lack experience, says Ohanaeze
Notable Igbo personalities, including a foremost lawyer, Prof. Ben Nwabueze; and a First Republic minister, Chief Mbazuluike Amechi, were in attendance at the event organised by the Eastern Consultative Assembly when pro-Biafran activists went on the rampage and manhandled some of the dignitaries. Following the attack on some prominent Igbo leaders by Biafra agitators at an event in Enugu last week, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has said the agitators lack inexperience.
Reacting on Saturday, the spokesman for Ohanaeze, Uche Achi-Okpaga, advised the Indigenous People of Biafra to avoid playing into the hands of those who intended to hold Igbo down.
The Ohanaeze spokesman said the group was not in support of the attack on the Igbo elders.
He noted that the Enugu incident was caused by frustration on the part of the aggrieved youths, a situation he blamed on the harsh conditions in the country.
Achi-Okpaga said, “The youth would always behave as such. Now, some sections of the country feel that the Igbo should not be allowed to rule the country.   Instead of distrust and disrespect, the youth should see beyond their noses that there is a deliberate and well-orchestrated ploy to downgrade Ndigbo.
“However, our youths remain our children. No matter the degree of the attacks, they are our children. We are training them informally. They will soon become leaders or elders and would, as well, learn to bear with the youthful displays of their own children.”
But IPOB’s spokesman, Emma Powerful, said the majority of Igbo leaders were afraid of the North and did not want to take any action that would offend their alleged northern benefactors.
In response to enquiries by our correspondent, the IPOB spokesman said most Igbo leaders were actively engaged in ‘undermining Igbo interest’.
Powerful said, “These same leaders never ran to Buhari to send soldiers to stop Fulani herdsmen from slaughtering our people all over Enugu State. But when it came to IPOB agitating to free everybody from the bondage, they found the courage to invite the army to invade Igbo land.”
A leader of the Movement for Actualisation for the Sovereign State of Biafra, Uchenna Madu, in an interview with , explained that moves were being made to ‘mend fences’ with the affected Igbo leaders.
He explained that the agitators, who attacked the Igbo leaders, acted out of provocation.

IPOB: Jungle justice as normal justice

Image result for Jungle justice as normal justice
In the last few weeks, dozens of persons were lynched or rendered permanently incapacitated through jungle justice. For instance, the Nasarawa State Police Command recently arrested two persons in connection with a mob action that led to the death of a soldier, Ayuba Ali, in Akwanga Local Government Area. The command’s spokesperson, Kennedy Idirisu, said the victim, who was on pass from Maiduguri, allegedly hit a street hawker at Agwan Affi area of the town while riding on a motorbike.  The soldier who was in mufti tried to pacify the hawker. An altercation ensued, resulting in irate youths beating him up to a state of coma. The soldier later died in the hospital.
Jungle justice, a situation where some lawless people arrogate unto themselves the powers to punish offenders, has become a recurrent decimal in many parts of Nigeria. The ugly trend is in the form of public extrajudicial killings, beating or humiliation of suspected criminals without recourse to law enforcement agencies. On many occasions, petty crimes are met with severe punishments.  There are instances whereby innocent citizens who made mistakes were manhandled while, on many occasions, others were found to be victims of mistaken identities.
Another jungle justice was as a result of the discovery of some suspected ritualists’ den in a drainage channel along Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, a development that led to the lynching of a suspect. Later on, the police said the victim was just a destitute, believed to be mentally unstable. According to the command’s Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fatai Owoseni, the unidentified individual was set ablaze by a mob simply because a mobile phone was found on him.

We strongly condemn mob action in whatever guise. But we also challenge our security agencies, especially the police, civil defence and the DSS, to see this incessant abuse of the law as an indictment on their credibility. Unarguably, various opinion polls have shown that though not justifiable, mob actions are, to a great extent, the demonstration of loss of confidence in the country’s justice system -  the police,  courts and criminal justice administration.

Critics of our porous criminal justice system cite multiple examples of how criminals who should be in jail were unleashed on the society from police detention facilities.  In some cases, those who provided intelligence information to security agencies became victims of reprisal attacks because some security personnel revealed their intelligence sources to criminals. In this way, many police informants have been killed by criminals who were let off the hook by security agents in unprofessional, corrupt and criminal circumstances.

No doubt, the image of the entire security system is at stake, a development that gives some people the erroneous belief that they should always take the law into their hands. It is the responsibility of our security agencies and the judiciary to fish out the bad elements in the system, punish them, and send them packing so as to sanitise our criminal justice system. No doubt, security personnel know the bad eggs in their commands, but instead of exposing them, officers cover up such crimes in a warped demonstration of espirit de corp.  It is time for them to overcome their sentiments and drag out deviants for punishment. This is the best way of restoring confidence in the justice system; it is the best approach in preventing street urchins from taking the law into their hands.

Beyond this, we call on the National Orientation Agency, educational institutions, community, religious, trade unions leaders and other agents of socialisation in Nigeria to educate their members on the sanctity of human life. As jungle justice is becoming a norm instead of an exception, the lives of Nigerians have become cheaper and cheaper to take, as if we have been cast back to the barbaric age. We must shun this evil habit of killing one another at the snap of the finger.

BIAFRA NATION:IPOB identifies Igbos’ major problem, blasts Zik

Image result for IPOB identifies Igbos’ major problem, blasts Zik
The pro-Biafra group said on Saturday that the main problem of the Igbos was that their leaders were undermining the collective interest of the people. The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has identified what it described as the biggest problem of the Igbo nation.
IPOB in a statement by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful, traced what he called the bad leadership in Igbo land to the era of the late Ukpabi Asika, who served as the administrator of the defunct East Central State after the Nigeria –Biafra war.
He regretted that subsequent Igbo leaders had also not provided the much needed inspirational leadership.
The statement read, “The issue is not about Igbo leaders not doing enough to promote Igbo interest. The problem is that Igbo leaders are actively engaged in the undermining of collective Igbo interest. With the notable exception of Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, the rest are mere errand boys for Abuja and the caliphate.
“They are visibly terrified of their Fulani masters and would not want to do anything to jeopardize their cherished lucrative relationship with their masters in the North. The supposedly apex socio-cultural organization Ohaneze Ndigbo is considerably worse.
“The problem of bad leadership in Igboland started immediately after the war. From the imposition of Ukpabi Asika as the administrator of the then East Central State, Igbo have never had good and honest leaders.
“They have honest social critics and commentators, but rarely good leaders. Every leader you see in Igboland today was placed in office by the caliphate. The Fulani caliphate decides who becomes governor, senator, Ohaneze Ndigbo president general and so on.
“These supposedly Igbo leaders are on record as being the first set of people to condemn IPOB and invite Hausa Fulani soldiers to come and kill Biafrans. Many people don’t know that IPOB has even more significant presence in Igweocha (Rivers State) than anywhere else in Biafra land, but you don’t hear Ijaw, Ikwerre Igbo, Ndoni or even Ogoni politicians castigate IPOB the way Igbo politicians do on a regular basis. That tells where their loyalty lies.
“Yoruba elders never publicly condemn OPC, Arewa Consultative Forum till date has not offered any categorical condemnation of Boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen, but Igbo leaders themselves canvassed that government should deploy soldiers to the South East to kill innocent agitators.
“These same leaders never ran to Buhari to send soldiers to stop Fulani herdsmen from slaughtering our people all over Enugu State, but when it came to IPOB agitating to free everybody from the Nigerian bondage, they found the courage to invite the army to invade Igboland.”
“Zik was an impediment to Igbo and Biafra progress within Nigeria, hence our repudiation of all that he stood for. Zik’s dream and greed to lead the world’s biggest black nation just to rub shoulders with the western leaders, put us in this mess.
“Despite his undoubted brilliance and intellectual, Zik was not a very good politician. He remains till date the only person that led an independence struggle and never got the chance to lead the country after independence. Unfortunately, the present day Igbo leaders have continued in that failed politics of Zik.
“That is why today we are discussing cows instead of industries, science and technology, begging Fulanis to stop killing their fellow Nigerians and to allow the existence of Nigeria to be renegotiated into acceptable standard of governance to usher in political stability, economic growth and modern development.”
