BIAFRA LAND:IPOB reveals what will happen if Nnamdi Kanu’s co-defendants are not granted bail

IPOB said the civil disobedience campaign will resume if an Abuja Federal High Court refuses to grant four persons held in custody, Benjamin Madubugwu, David Nwawusi, Bright Chimezie Ishinwa, Chidiebere Onwudiwe bail. The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, on Monday threatened to resume its campaign of civil disobedience across the country against the Nigerian government. Benjamin Madubugwu, David Nwawusi, Bright Chimezie Ishinwa, Chidiebere Onwudiwe were charged alongside IPOB’s elusive leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
However, Justice Nyako in 2017 granted Kanu bail but ordered that his co-defendants be remanded in Kuje prison.
Barring any last minute change, the trial of the three accused persons will resume on Tuesday.
Reacting to their continued detention, IPOB urged all Igbos to join in its campaign to compel the Nigerian government into granting bail to their “brothers.”
In a statement issued by IPOB’s spokesperson, Emma Powerful, he stressed that such injustice could not be allowed to continue.
The statement reads, “We hereby place the judiciary of Nigeria and the world at large on notice that less than 24 hours to the commencement of trial of those charged with Mazi Nnamdi Kanu as co-conspirators in a plot to overthrow the government of Major General Muhammadu Buhari are still to be served an amended charge as ordered by the presiding judge Justice Binta Nyako at the last hearing over 4 weeks ago.
“This flagrant disregard of a court ruling is nothing new to this administration but it is particularly disheartening when the defendants have been in detention without trial for upwards of 3 years. In no other supposed democratic country will such blatant state sanctioned detention without trial be tolerated only in Nigeria. Why is it that something as routine as filing of charges against those accused of having committed a crime, is proving difficult for the attorney general and DSS in this instance? Is it because the men are innocent and deserve unreserved apology from the government and their freedom or is it because the government have lost its way and can longer proceed with the sham trial.
“Information reaching us now has it that Justice Binta Nyako has concluded plans with the office Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) to postpone the court case between Nigerian government and Biafrans still held illicitly in Kuje prison, thereby subjecting and exposing these innocent Biafrans to inhumane and degrading treatment.
“Let it be known that this case has been in court close to 3 years now and counting as a result of unwarranted adjournment after adjournment, so as to be able to scout for evidence against these Biafrans and to jail them unjustly.
“We must resist this unjust move against Benjamin Mmadubugwu, David Nwawusi, Bright Chimezie Ishinwa, and Chidiebere Onwudiwe. This inhuman and inhumane treatment against these innocent Biafrans is disheartening and must be put to a halt by all men and women of good conscience the world over. The court, it is said, is the last hope of the common man, but here in Nigeria, the case is different. Judiciary is now a tool used by Nigerian government to punish those that have different beliefs and ideology as well as those they see as opposition to their hegemony and interests.
“Self determination is enshrined in the United Nations Charter of rights of indigenous people and African Charter on Human and Peoples Rights which was ratified by Nigerian government and domesticated into the laws of Nigeria.
“Therefore, it is within the legitimate right of IPOB to agitate for self determination using the same law as provided by United Nations and African Union which Nigeria is a signatory to.
“We hereby call on all people of good conscience and lovers of freedom, equity and justice and indeed all Biafrans around the world to stand up and resist this travesty of justice and the continued illegal detention of these our brothers for close to 3 years now.
“Either they release our brothers tomorrow unconditionally or we Biafrans will intensify our campaign of civil disobedience on the streets of Biafraland and beyond. We have truly endured this injustice for far too long and enough is enough. We shall not allow this to continue unchallenged.
“IPOB is calling on Biafrans worldwide to get ready because we must compel Nigerian government to free our brothers, Benjamin Madubugwu, David Nwawusi, Bright Chimezie Ishinwa, Chidiebere Onwudiwe and provide our leader they abducted on the 14th of September 2017.
“The incessant adjournment of this court case must be put to a stop tomorrow.”

Four of Kanu’s co-defendants, Chidiebere Onwudiwe, Benjamin Madubugwu, David Nwawuisi, and Bright Chimezie Tuesday pleaded not guilty to three count-charges of setting up illegal broadcast in London and Nigeria for the secession of the South East, South South and parts of Benue and Kogi States from Nigeria   Co-defendants of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu have taken plea in a fresh charge submitted before the Federal High Court, Abuja by the Federal Government.
They also pleaded not guilty to illegal importation of radio transmitter, and unlawful possession of firearms.
This followed fresh application by the Federal Government, lawyer, Magaji Labaran, who informed the court that a fresh information, which reduces the charges from five to three counts have been filed before the court.
Defence lawyers, Chukwudi Igwe, P.A.N Ejiofor, and Maxwel Okpara had earlier objected to the application.
They had said that the fresh information was a plan to delay the trial and that it was not ripe for hearing having been served on them while in court.‎

BIAFRA NATION:Nigeria will break into six republics before 2023 – Uwazuruike

According to him, the present ‘pigeonholed six geo-political zones of the country’, namely South-East, South-South, South-West, North-Central, North-East and North-West, would metamorphose into the six republics, with South-East becoming the long agitated New Biafra, while South-South becomes Niger-Delta Republic, just as South-West and North-Central become Oduduwa and Middle-Belt Republics respectively, leaving North-East and North-West as Arewa Republic.  Leader of the Biafra Independence Movement, BIM, and founder of the Movement for Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Chief Ralph Uwazuruike yesterday claimed that Nigeria would break into six different republics before 2023.
In a statement issued yesterday in Onitsha, Anambra state, shortly after BIM’s Anambra South Zonal meeting held at Uga, Aguata Local Government Area of the state, Uwazuruike who was represented by a member of Biafra Elders–in-council, Mazi Chris Mocha, observed that “the obvious lack of trust in the relationship or union between the northern and southern Nigeria is too inexplicable that Nigerians cannot continue to co-exist as one nation.”
Uwazuruike contended that “the faulty amalgamation of the northern and southern Nigeria in 1914 which expired since January 2014, also made it imperative that the country must surely break up in the near future, based on Biafran constitution which provided that any section of the country that is dissatisfied with the union will be at liberty to secede
He therefore urged Biafra leaders to ensure that the federation is run in such a way that the citizens would be happy at all times and willing to belong to Biafra without being forced to do so
He insisted that it was only in a corrupt country like Nigeria where illegality thrives that citizens are forced to live together and always show allegiance to the state, adding, “we do not deserve Biafra if the emerging republic cannot be better than Nigeria.

PEOPLE POWER:IPOB threatens Ohanaeze, says it will attack group if it holds meeting in Igboland

Image result for Biafra: IPOB threatens Ohanaeze, says it will attack group if it holds meeting in Igboland
IPOB warned that should any attempt is made at convening to discuss one-Nigeria or restructuring “what happened at the end of ECA event will be nothing compared to what shall become” of the apex Igbo socio-political organisation.  The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, on Wednesday warned the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo against organising any public event to discuss the issue of restructuring and one-Nigeria in the South East.
Describing Ohanaeze leaders as “Abuja errand boys,” the pro-Biafra group added that, “Any day these so-called Igbo leaders gather in public, we will make sure we show them how upset we are.”
A statement by IPOB’s spokesperson, Emma Powerful maintained that leaders of the body have failed the region.
The statement reads reads, “We read with disdain the statement credited to an Ohaneze Ndigbo spokesperson regarding the events that up took place at the Eastern Consultative Assembly (ECA) event in Enugu recently. What happened at the said event will be nothing compared to what shall become of Ohaneze Ndigbo should they attempt to convene any public meeting anywhere in Biafraland to discuss restructuring or how to keep Nigeria one.
“The spontaneous disruption of the ECA event at Enugu, though regrettable, is what shall become of any gathering where compromised, washed-out politicians gather to sell out our people to their Hausa-Fulani masters from the north. What we want and are being killed for is referendum not restructuring; freedom not continued bondage in Nigeria.
“It is unfortunate that very few individuals who arrogate the title of elders and leaders to themselves cannot point to any legacy they built or are presently building for the coming generation except betrayal, treachery, back-stabbing, avarice and lust for power. All the excellent work done by Dr. Michael Okpara and Chief Sam Mbakwe has been laid to waste by a ravenous breed of caliphate appointed Igbo leadership devoid of any sense of responsibility to the people.
“What is beyond belief is that these politicians and Aso Rock informants claiming to be Igbo leaders would come out openly to say that IPOB has no experience in the politics of Nigeria, whereas they that claim to have all the experience in the world have done nothing with their supposed wealth of experience to adequately address the issues confronting the people today which is freedom.
“The impact of the failure of present Igbo leadership is a worse trauma than losing the war. In their utterances, often devoid of logic, they ignorantly equate the demand for freedom to mere youthful exuberance or clamor for war. Does it therefore mean that every demand for self determination automatically equates to war? Where did they get such perverted idea from that a demand for referendum, which is a democratic exercise, somehow translates into war. We are interested to know which history or philosophy text teaches that or where they got the absurd notion from. Such assertions are often made from a position of ignorance, therefore we encourage them to study the history of liberation movements around the world and stop equating our quest for referendum to a declaration of war.
“IPOB is made up of elders from across all nationalities in Biafraland that are older than almost every Ohaneze Ndigbo executive member. These IPOB elders/leaders are visible and not hidden. Mothers and grand-mothers openly identify with IPOB but Ohaneze Ndigbo feign ignorance of this fact and have continued to peddle the lie that we are exclusively a collection of angry, disgruntled youths. Rather than wake up to the reality that IPOB is a global mass movement with every age bracket adequately represented, they comfort themselves with the notion that we are exclusively populated by inexperienced youths which is clearly not the case.
“To any keen observer, it is evident that IPOB leadership has amongst its ranks, experienced administrators and intellectuals that are successfully piloting the affairs of the movement worldwide. It is appalling that this present Ohaneze Ndigbo, its leadership and South East governors have publicly reaffirmed their commitment to maintain the one Nigeria state with or without restructuring.
“We believe there is something wrong with the mentality of a leadership that will publicly state their desire to sabotage Biafra restoration. These are the supposed leaders, fathers and elders who it would appear enjoy watching their people suffer, perhaps because it makes them feel valued by the oppressor.
“It is a well known fact that IPOB is made up of both the old and young, with experienced public administrators all over the world that pilot the affairs of the movement. So the tag of inexperience is both misplaced and misconceived.
“We agree that IPOB lacks experience in certain areas like selling out the collective interest of the people, sabotage and subservience to Hausa-Fulani hegemony. We also don’t have experience in serving Arewa core north slavishly or agreeing to whatever Arewa Consultative Forum says. We don’t have experience of blissful existence in a slave master relationship that obtains between the Fulani dominated north and segments of Igbo leadership. We don’t have experience in treachery, betrayal, lies and deception.
“IPOB is well organised movement and platform to restore Biafra and with it the lost dignity of a once proud race. A few Abuja based errand boys that call themselves politicians cannot understand why we have roundly rejected their approach, which is nothing short of the appeasement of an obnoxious, brutal, oppressive alien regime from the Sahel.
“Any day these so-called Igbo leaders gather in public, we will make sure we show them how upset we are. The era of selling the collective interest of the masses to the highest bidder has come to an end. All we want is referendum not restructuring; we want Biafra not Nigeria. We have buried too many people, we have lost too many souls, we are pained by the innocent who are still languishing in illegal detention all over Nigeria and we are enraged by the betrayal of those we call socio-political leaders. Only the total restoration of Biafra will suffice, anything else is mere waste of time.”

Biafra groups make u-turn, back Abia, Ebonyi governors

The statement made available to BIAFRA was signed by Comrade Emeka Ibekwe for (Biafra Independence organization), Comrade Philip Umenna (Igbo Revolutionary Movement) and Comrade Sunday James Achu for the Eastern People Renewal.  Three pro-Biafra groups, the Biafra Independence Organization, the Igbo Revolutionary Movement and the Eastern People Renewal have backtracked on the earlier decision of some Igbo groups not to participate in the 2019 election.
The groups made their latest position in a statement made available to journalists on Wednesday, where they took swipes at some Igbo leaders, who they said were not doing enough for the people.
They said it was regrettable that some Igbo leaders, who have the opportunities of bringing development to Igbo land, declined to do so owing to selfishness and inferiority complex.
“Many so-called Igbo leaders have occupied many high government positions and appointments; many served as elected governors, state and national assembly members; they are no longer remembered today because there was nothing to show that they once occupied such lofty positions.
“We, however, commend some leaders who are steadfast and eloquent in pursuit of justice and political emancipation of Ndigbo.
“We seize this opportunity to declare our infinite resolve to participate in the coming general election in 2019; we shall participate in supporting, canvassing and voting for a credible Biafran person irrespective of political party or platform.
“We need our people-oriented persons with true Igbo trademark to occupy all elective positions both in Igbo land and Abuja.
“The people of Biafra are tired of Hausa Fulani’s stooges that are representing our people. We shall also support some Igbo governors and national assembly members who are doing well in infrastructural development, economic/ social stabilization, youth and women empowerment through rural/ community development.
“Governors that are positively touching the lives of our people through health care and hospital equipment will also have our support,” they said.
The coalition said it has resolved to support “the continuity of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and Dave Umahi of Abia and Ebonyi States.
“We are moved to declare our open support to them because of their ingenuity and robustness in infrastructural developments, health care and social welfare of their respective states.
“Today Ndigbo can be proud of Aba (Enyimba City) and Abakiliki on the sudden transformational outlook of the two cities of Igbo land.
“Aba has suddenly bounced back to her ancient glory of commercial engine room of Igbo land; even Abakiliki that was a forgotten city has bounced back to a modern city.
“We encouraged the citizens and residents of Abia and Ebonyi states to return back Gov Okezie Ikpeazu and Dave Umahi for continuous development of Igbo land.”

IPOB:Nnamdi Kanu’s brother, Emmanuel, reveals who allegedly kidnapped, sold IPOB leader to military

According to him, this time around, Uwazuruike has succeeded in selling the pro-Biafra leader to the Nigerian Government and its security forces, adding that there will be no reconciliation between the two if Nnamdi Kanu finally comes out.
He said, “Well, if the Nigerian army will release Nnamdi Kanu from where they kept him, I don’t see any reconciliation coming because Uwazuruike is a saboteur; he sold my brother to the Federal Government.
“He had a hand in the military raid of our country home because he collected huge sum of money by the Federal Government for that purpose.
“Uwazuruike always has evil intention; that was why he kidnapped my brother in 2009 and I gave him 24 hours to release him and after releasing him, he invited the DSS to arrest my brother at the Ojukwu Bunker which they did, all in an effort to ensure he was eliminated.
Prince Emmanuel Kanu, the younger brother of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, has alleged that leader of the Biafra Movement, BIM, Ralph Uwazuruike kidnapped the IPOB founder and also sold him to the military.
In an interview with Daily Sun, Prince Kanu said that Uwazuruike’s evil intentions for Nnamdi Kanu led him to kidnap him [Nnamdi] in 2009.
“Uwazuruike must go into exile whether he likes it or not for betraying his people and at the same time insulting them. Nobody in his right senses will insult his people the way he did, that tells you how far he has gone to rubbish his own people for the sake of money.
“He is the man that will tell few of his followers to use Biafran international passport and Biafra vehicle number plates while himself will be using those of Nigeria, have you seen this type of human being before? Like I said, at the appointed time, he must go into exile because he is not worthy to live in Biafra land.”
