New year, NSCDC urges Kaduna residents to keep vigilance, obey COVID-19 protocols

  The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kaduna State Command has advised Kaduna residents to always watch out for crime and criminality and report same to the Corps for urgent action. The NSCDC tasked the residents to ensure vigilance and abide by COVID-19 protocols as they celebrate 2021 New Year. Reno Omokri, condemns insults against Pastor Kumuyi over alleged abuse of Don Davies

  Reno Omokri has kicked against Nigerians abusing the General Overseer of Deeper Life Ministry, Pastor William Kumuyi, over the alleged sexual abuse of Don Davis, a JS1 student of the Deeper Life High School.  had reported that the mother of Don Davis alleged a threat to her life after she went public with her son’s abuse. She had accused the Akwa Ibom State government officials and some parents of indicted students of intimidation. Following the outcry that her son was starved and molested in the school, Nigerians launched an attack on Pastor Kumuyi for being silent on the matter. Eastern Security Network will operate without support of Southeast govs – Nnamdi Kanu boasts

Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, on Thursday claimed that his Eastern Security Network, ESN, will operate without the support of Southeast governors. Kanu said ESN revolved around the people and not Southeast governors or politicians. The IPOB leader made the claims while dismissing Southeast governors who distanced themselves from the security outfit. Kanu maintained that the position of the governors was of no significance to the operations of the outfit. He spoke through the Publicity Secretary of IPOB, Emma Powerful.   A former Tottenham Hotspur striker, Darren Bent, has urged three Premier League clubs to make a move for Diego Costa ahead of the January transfer window. The clubs are Tottenham, Wolves and Everton. recalls that Costa terminated his contract with Atletico Madrid on Tuesday after mutual consent. Buhari signs 2021 budget

  President Muhammadu Buhari has signed the 2021 appropriation bill into law. It would be recalled that the 2021 appropriation bill was passed by the National Assembly last week monday before embarking on its holiday. The President on new year’s eve signed the bill to sustain the January-December fiscal cycle. The N13.5 trillion budget will run from January 1st- to December 31st in 2021.

December 31st, Lagos CP insists on curfew, orders closure of churches, night clubs

  Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has directed all officers to enforce all protocols as highlighted by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19. Odumosu instructed his officers and men to enforce the 12am to 4am curfew and also ensure the total closure of night clubs, bars, lounges, event centres, amongst others. This was contained in a statement signed by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Thursday. THE Education Secretary, announced that schools in the hardest-hit Covid hotspots will be shut until at least January 18.

  Yes,   January exams will still go ahead in schools. This even includes schools which have extra restrictions imposed on them. Gavin Williamson, Education Secretary, said he would do "everything" to keep children in school, and the majority of primary schools will reopen on Monday, January 4. But, in nearly 50 Tier 4 areas where infection rates are highest, all schools will have to close, including primaries, until at least January 18 - but this will be reviewed every two weeks.  Mr Williamson confirmed that, despite the disruption, exams pencilled in for January would still go ahead.  He told the House of Commons: “Those assessments will continue as planned in those establishments that are delivering them. “We made the decision about the importance of those youngsters being able to continue to take those qualifications over the coming weeks.” Expected return dates for schools January 4:  All primary schools will return as planned - ex...
