BIAFRA : Weep not for Abba Kyari and Co

Abimbola Adelakun On Tuesday, the news broke that the Chief of Staff to the Nigerian president, Abba Kyari, tested positive for COVID-19. Three of his aides reportedly also tested positive. Same Tuesday, it was announced that the Bauchi State governor, Sen.    Bala Mohammed, also tested positive. Then, there is the son of former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, whose test result was announced on Saturday. Given how many people close to them they might have huddled before diagnoses, we will never know how far and wide they spread the virus. About a year ago,  The Avengers’ Endgame  was all the rage. Looking at how art seems to be mimicking life, we can draw a parallel with the present time. The film’s villain, a genocidal warlord called Thanos, tried to rid the universe of half of its population.  Today the world faces a similar enemy in the guise of a virus called COVID-19. From Nigeria to virtually every country in the world, the pandemic rava...

How Abba Kyari’s Above The Law Attitude Led Him To Expose Nigeria’s Rich And Powerful To Coronavirus Rampage

Two days after it was confirmed that Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari, had contracted the deadly Coronavirus, facts have emerged on how he flagrantly disregarded safety warnings by officials of Ministry of Health, Nigerian Centre for Disease Control, and the Presidential Task Force on Coronavirus headed by Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha.  Top officials of the ministry and NCDC told SaharaReporters on Thursday that the whole Coronavirus crisis in the Presidency and indeed Nigeria's power circle could have been totally different today if Kyari, one of the most influential figures in Buhari’s regime, had not deliberately flouted safety instructions after returning to the country following visits to Germany and Egypt earlier this month.  Both countries have hundreds of confirmed infections together and dozens of deaths from the virus.  Upon his return to Nigeria from those countries, it was reliably ga...

BIAFRA : COVID-19 Why Nigeria will no longer have president soon – Nnamdi Kanu reacts as Abba Kyari contracts Coronavirus

Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has reacted to the Coronavirus status of Abba Kyari, the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari. DAILY POST reported on Tuesday that the Chief of Staff to the President, who recently returned from Germany, has tested positive for the deadly Coronavirus. Nnamdi Kanu said that very soon Nigeria will be without a President, because, according to him, COVID-19 “presents the corrupt criminal Fulani cabal in Abuja and their accomplices in the Lagos media with an opportunity to package and send Jubril Al-Sudani back to his country Sudan, because in all probability he too is infected with Corona virus.” The IPOB leader believes that the current development will expose a lot of secrets at the Presidency, adding that time is running out on Kyari and another person he described as Jubril Al-Sudani. “The news that Nigeria’s de-facto ‘president’ and head of government Abba Kyari is ill with COVID-19 o...

BIAFRA : “Where is Kainene?” The Unanswered Question that Many Victims of the Biafran War Can Relate To

Fathers and brothers were (forcefully) enlisted into war, kids starved – their ribs tearing their already pale skin – to death, wives lost their husbands, husbands lost their wives, siblings were separated, parents mourned the death of their children, families were ruined, properties were lost, many people’s world just turned upside down and… some just simply went missing. Never to be seen again. Since 2006 when  Chimamanda  Ngozi Adichie ‘s  Half of a Yellow Sun  was released, many Nigerians have been pressing her to tell them the whereabouts of Kainene – a character who went missing, in the book. Truly, Kainene was not everyone’s sweetheart at first, but she later wormed her way into the readers’ hearts and her sudden disappearance was a huge jab to the already grieving hearts of readers. Kainene, in  Half of a Yellow Sun , is a reflection of the many (unaccountable) losses Nigerians suffered in the 1967-1970 Biafran war. Fathers and brothe...
